This has been insinuated as locked up for at least a week. There's only one single place mentioning possible visits and you can guarantee that it's about driving traffic.
You've gotta be able to read the signs too. Leonard has followed more ND people on Instagram than any other possible transfer, and started connecting with possible transfers before interest was even reported. It seems like he's actively recruiting for ND. What would be the point of doing all that if he's not going to ND. A 21 or 22 year old grad transfer who has gone through the university experience and led a college team for years is not the same as a 17 year old high schooler - he's not going to pull the same shenanigans that we fear from some of these high school recruits. This is locked up. Makes no sense otherwise.

He’s mad that we injured him and tanked his season and secretly he and Dave Clawson conspired clandestinely at a local Bojangles and together they designed the ultimate troll job to completely gut ND and our fanbase.

I feel like you’re correct, and the logical way of thinking here is that there is no way we just totally fumbled the bag/misread the situation, but we’ll see. People downgrading CBs from 10 to 6 and all the other nonsense about Ohio State/Auburn does not give me warm and fuzzies.

Loy, seconds ago from a source - He will only visit another school if ND's NIL falls through.

Loy said he'll know more this afternoon or sooner.

My take on Loy's comments, there's a slightly growing level of uncertainty, but there's more reason to believe he stays the course than not.

Most likely, he’s being cautious after all the stories of players not getting paid.

ND follows through. We’re fine.

if ND's NIL falls through.
There's NO way that should happen. I'm not saying it won't - but it shouldn't. If it does it shows that we aren't a serious program.

Loy also said Leonard is Ohio states #1 priority. He 100% disagrees with Sampson

Sampson has mailed it in. He's a month late to everything and thinks he's too good to grind for details like Matt Freeman or Tom Loy.

Sampson is half corporate/ESPN in my perspective. Which is fine, there's an audience for that - but stay out of recruiting then.

My remote accidentally slipped out of my hand when I threw them down in disgust at the missed int that would of sealed the game and lo and behold nailed the TV. Wife was not happy
My wife leaves. Every week. She'll send me texts and ask how they're doing. If they're behind she stays out longer. If they're doing well it's her que it's safe to come home

Yeah I mean if we end up in a bidding war... when we -- for some reason -- never expected that to happen... this can go a lot of different directions.

Or it could be smoke screen to extract as much of an NIL commitment as they can, which only happens if there are other suitors. Who knows! But I'm definitely not counting the proverbial chickens here before they are hatched, grown, and deep fried.

Bargaining chip. He came here first, wants to be here, and is leveraging the threats of other trips to get more cash. Everyday business boys.

I think this is a case of:
+ Everybody getting jumpy so close to finish line
+ BD driving clicks to his page
My guess is he commits today. That said, idk if I feel as strongly as everyone else about getting into an NIL bidding war for this guy - I understand he has 1st rd upside, he also is frankly injury prone.
Finally, as an ND alum and fan, I hate the Dryskall is meddling with players and families and becoming some of the first ND affiliated faces they engage with. I really hope ND comms is aggressive in shooing him away and communicating to families that he is not affiliated with or trusted by the university.

I'd agree with you if they didn't reportedly have Will Howard locked up and turned him down for Leonard. ND has effectively negotiated against itself and went all in here so they don't have much choice.

You don't need to win a NIL bidding war but you have to be competitive. If Auburn is offering $2M and ND can get to $1M and everyone other box checks in NDs corner, that can win.

But ND better have their shit together here.

Why isnt OSU all over Cam Ward? I think Riley has higher upside, but Cam or even Dillon Gabriel would crush in Columbus and be upgrades over McCord. Not sure if anyone else in the portal would be.

Hes garnering attention and then picking ND over Ohio State. He’s then going to tell the nation that it really came down to his trust of Gerad Parker and Marcus Freeman to handle his future and get him to the NFL over Brian Hartline and Ryan Day.

On the most recent II podcast Sampson said OSU evaluated Riley and doesn't want him. Sounded pretty confident in that.

I don't know what the hell OSU is doing, to be honest. So I'm not sure I'm necessarily concerned about their evals.

Looking at the board of FUND for the first time - I am not worried at all about them not coming through. Killer business chops and $1B+ net worth with just the board, let alone their networks. At least one member of Augusta National too lol

I would say morale for OSU boosters to support Day is at an all-time low. So easy to see them keeping their wallets in their arse pockets when it comes to NIL donations. Like its not out of this realm for Mizzou (who is probably at the crest of a wave) to shit all over them in the Cotton Bowl

This is the real ace up NDs sleeve in the new era of college football. We are one of maybe 5 FBS programs with essentially an Ivy League equivalent network of Wall Street and private equity killers. Competitive SOBs with money and networks. I think this is a real advantage for us against schools with successful alums who are in media or founders or whatever
