You've gotta be able to read the signs too. Leonard has followed more ND people on Instagram than any other possible transfer, and started connecting with possible transfers before interest was even reported. It seems like he's actively recruiting for ND. What would be the point of doing all that if he's not going to ND. A 21 or 22 year old grad transfer who has gone through the university experience and led a college team for years is not the same as a 17 year old high schooler - he's not going to pull the same shenanigans that we fear from some of these high school recruits. This is locked up. Makes no sense otherwise. This has been insinuated as locked up for at least a week. There's only one single place mentioning possible visits and you can guarantee that it's about driving traffic.
He’s mad that we injured him and tanked his season and secretly he and Dave Clawson conspired clandestinely at a local Bojangles and together they designed the ultimate troll job to completely gut ND and our fanbase. You've gotta be able to read the signs too. I feel like you’re correct, and the logical way of thinking here is that there is no way we just totally fumbled the bag/misread the situation, but we’ll see. People downgrading CBs from 10 to 6 and all the other nonsense about Ohio State/Auburn does not give me warm and fuzzies. This has been insinuated as locked up for at least a week. Mendoza put a milli on Angeli +1000 to start @TAMU.Htf does it fall through?
Good move by the kid though nonetheless
Loy, seconds ago from a source - Only way he visits OSU or other school is if ND's NIL falls through.
There's NO way that should happen. I'm not saying it won't - but it shouldn't. If it does it shows that we aren't a serious program.if ND's NIL falls through.
Sampson has mailed it in. He's a month late to everything and thinks he's too good to grind for details like Matt Freeman or Tom Loy.Loy also said Leonard is Ohio states #1 priority. He 100% disagrees with Sampson
My wife leaves. Every week. She'll send me texts and ask how they're doing. If they're behind she stays out longer. If they're doing well it's her que it's safe to come homeMy remote accidentally slipped out of my hand when I threw them down in disgust at the missed int that would of sealed the game and lo and behold nailed the TV. Wife was not happy
I think this is a case of:
+ Everybody getting jumpy so close to finish line
+ BD driving clicks to his page
My guess is he commits today. That said, idk if I feel as strongly as everyone else about getting into an NIL bidding war for this guy - I understand he has 1st rd upside, he also is frankly injury prone.
Finally, as an ND alum and fan, I hate the Dryskall is meddling with players and families and becoming some of the first ND affiliated faces they engage with. I really hope ND comms is aggressive in shooing him away and communicating to families that he is not affiliated with or trusted by the university.
On the most recent II podcast Sampson said OSU evaluated Riley and doesn't want him. Sounded pretty confident in that.
I would say morale for OSU boosters to support Day is at an all-time low. So easy to see them keeping their wallets in their arse pockets when it comes to NIL donations. Like its not out of this realm for Mizzou (who is probably at the crest of a wave) to shit all over them in the Cotton BowlHes garnering attention and then picking ND over Ohio State. He’s then going to tell the nation that it really came down to his trust of Gerad Parker and Marcus Freeman to handle his future and get him to the NFL over Brian Hartline and Ryan Day.
This is the real ace up NDs sleeve in the new era of college football. We are one of maybe 5 FBS programs with essentially an Ivy League equivalent network of Wall Street and private equity killers. Competitive SOBs with money and networks. I think this is a real advantage for us against schools with successful alums who are in media or founders or whateverLooking at the board of FUND for the first time - I am not worried at all about them not coming through. Killer business chops and $1B+ net worth with just the board, let alone their networks. At least one member of Augusta National too lol
