Does our boy Freeman have some grey coming through in that lettuce? He’s one of us after all
Ash can’t defend a good offense. Typical.
You're right, it's probably a stealth suspension for drugsSeems weird that a thigh bruise has kept him out for months and months
Not saying he is a 3. Honestly, only order i am confident in is 1 and 2. The rest are all guys competing for 3-4 spots in the rotation.
But at some point availability is a skill. And he hasn’t shown that is a strength
I don’t think he’ll move to the 3’s, but he’ll absolutely get passed up if he can’t recover from what seems to be the longest hamstring injury in history.
There are some very talented receivers that’ll take advantage of the available reps and Greathouse might not get them back.
Wanna bet?Realistically Burress isn’t playing actual minutes this year barring injury. Neither is one of Williams or Porter (also injured).
Anything on Burress today?
Can’t remember if it was Freeman’s or Jamie’s right up but Burress showed out big time.
You sure that wasn’t Fitzgerald?
Burress didnt suit up, he was injured
Someone get me a cigarette
Rodney Dunham the Aaron Lynch of 2026?
Cam Williams?II had Frazier, Flanigan, Zackery, Williams and Walton has guys who rotated with the expected 1s. DL is a different story as that was a large rotation.
Cam Williams?
I bet Carr does. But some of the passes are his guy or out of bounds/dirtI have an admittedly dumb thought, but I think that at "secret" times during the play drills, I'd go to CJ and say: OK I know this isn't what you'd do in normal games, but this time, just to keep him sharp, stare down Leonard's coverage and try to beat him anyway.
At this point, I think most offensive coordinators that are game planning for ND's defense have already written off throwing in Leonard Moore's general direction.I have an admittedly dumb thought, but I think that at "secret" times during the play drills, I'd go to CJ and say: OK I know this isn't what you'd do in normal games, but this time, just to keep him sharp, stare down Leonard's coverage and try to beat him anyway.
With the safeties ND has that takes away a lot of the deep throws as well. Got to be a nightmare to know you have large portions of the field that are by and large no fly zones. At this point, I think most offensive coordinators that are game planning for ND's defense have already written off throwing in Leonard Moore's general direction.
There's just one big chunk of land that is basically off-limits to offenses every Saturday.
Faison and Graham had the production, in general it seems like the vibes on those two all spring are accurate.Any feedback on the receivers? I’m assuming they had a good day because Carr had a strong day. Just wondering if there are any specifics?
I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time the receivers had consistent success against the defense. What I witnessed last August, the secondary had the receivers clamped to all hell.
Pretty good breakdown here by Sampson, for Athletic subscribers.

Notre Dame spring football: A running diary of the Fighting Irish’s open practice
Quarterback CJ Carr dazzles, the offensive lines show promise and Spencer Porath hints Notre Dame may have kicker during spring practice.www.nytimes.com
Short version for those who aren't: Sounds like Absher and Lambert had rough days, but Carr is skilled enough to cover for it, while Black and Knapp were great. Grubbs looks good. RB depth is not a concern. Zackery gets the 2025 Christian Gray treatment of having to defend all the throws. Talich's a ballplayer. And we seem to have about a dozen dudes on the DL. Also the new kicker is excellent. All well.
