Never ever thought I would see this, but here we are! MMFF and staff getting it done... I know 2026 recruiting has a long way to go, but when is the last time ND had a #1 spot in any ranking at any point in the recruiting year?

Iirc back in 2013 we had the #1 class right up to the end of the cycle. It was either on Rivals or Scout.

A couple times in the Spring we've been #1 over the past couple of years but didn't last due to best player decommits and not closing well.

I'm saying we had the #1 class right up til signing day in February. Then we lost Vanderdoes and maybe someone else?? Then on top of that Bama got some signing day commits. In my personal opinion we did finish with the #1 class that year but I'm a Homer.

Vanderdoes committed on signing day. Notre Dame had the #1 class that year.

Anzalone flipped to Florida in January. I'm still not sure what the real story was. I read conflicting things from he was pissed at Kelly for flirting with the NFL, to his Dad wanted him at Florida the whole time.

The two best ND classes in (somewhat) recent memory are the 2008 and 2013 classes. We'll effectively tie the 2013 class with a commitment from Premer, but going to need some additional heavy hitters to reach 2008. Man what a waste of a class lol.

I was rooting for Fryzel and Premer to be the pair, but shocked they actually got it done.

Jacobson is going to be a solid player for someone but his upside is pretty limited with his athleticism imo.

I always remember reading a breakdown of Urbie's first 3-4 classes at OSU and how his recruiting classes were consistently top 5 and that his staff's efforts always included key flips. And we all know what these efforts led to in January 2014!

No matter what year, there’s always going to be big time recruits that don’t pan out and recruits that are afterthoughts that end up really good.

I think the idea was if Jacobson committed before Premer. Not sure it’s the case in this order that’s unfolding

2023 class got a new coach we’re gonna win a Natty bump and then just didn’t land the plane on Keeley, Bowen, Moore, Edwards etc

2026 class is basically a just went to a Natty, we’re gonna win a Natty bump and is so far following through
