Swarbrick navigated ND from the dark days to find a coach able to bring stability and consistency we hadn’t had in a decade in BK then had the balls to trust MFMF to take over with no HC experience. On top of maneuvering through the ever changing landscape of CFB to have ND back at the top echelon of programs. Dude deserves a ton of credit.

If things go as expected in July, ND will likely finish with a Blue chip ratio of 88.9 %. Only 3 stars would likely be Reddish, Faison and Thom and I wouldn't be shocked if they got a bump after senior year. Wild

I think the idea was if Jacobson committed before Premer. Not sure it’s the case in this order that’s unfolding
They still would if he wanted to come aboard, he's nothing like the other two and we use plenty of 12 personnel.

Reddish will get his 4th....Faison, Thom and probably Garvin will be the NON composite 4* guys

Added Rodney Dunham to the LIKELy pile as well. Please let me know if there are any additional changes needed.

Yeah I’d say we land maybe 20% of the bright green guys putting them as likely means nothing. Just because some of them got Crystal balls means nothing. Most of these guys we are high on their list or one of their favorites but we sit there with 2-3 other schools. We had like 6-7 guys last class that were silent commits that didn’t end up here.

20%?!?!?!?! I would like to revisit this post in December
I know we are a long ways off from December but I thought it would be fitting to revisit this post now on its (belated) three month anniversary. Currently we are at 35% of @domer13 's "likely commits" with an extremely good chance to be over 50% in the next two weeks. Just wanted your feedback on how you are feeling about your "maybe 20%" comment at this point in the cycle?

Everyone knows freeman is a great recruiter but he finally backed it up that he's a great coach and then you throw in the bag..... Sky is the limit for ND right now
I'm genuinely stunned this is working out how it has. I knew in my gut that Marcus was that dude during the hiring process, but I just figured this would all go sideways before he arrived at full-fledged dude status.

I think this is what we all thought he could be, I think with the emergence of NIL and some bumps in the first 2 seasons it just took a little longer. But this is full recruiting potential type stuff we all hoped for when he was hired.

And when you answer the question 2008, don’t be afraid to use punctuation. Thanks in advance, signed The Board.

Looking back at that list, I think the biggest "dang that sucks," is Caldwell going to OSU. He would still fit perfectly in the class we are about to land.

Mike Frank said that Clark is very close with his family and believes he told the ND staff that he wanted to stay relatively close to home (the Carolinas).
I think he really liked ND as well as the idea of going to ND but just couldn't pull the trigger to go that far away from home.

Yea, he told quite a few ppl that as well as the coaching staffs from outside of the region long ago. I even mentioned this to someone on the board a couple of weeks ago.

ND has the highest blue chip ratio in the nation for this class. The four presumed additions will decrease it slightly to around 77%, but should still maintain top 3
Well that's kinda odd it would be such a big drop from the mid 80s, considering Robinson and Golden are both blue chips and Fitz and Reddish are both a point away.

At the conclusion of the season, I could definitely see the percentage being very close to what it currently is.

I went through today and made the "Best Case Scenario" class for about the top 15 current classes on 247. I added the recruits in the top 600 of the On3 player rankings for whom each school was the clear leader or in heavy contention. For example, for the three players below, I put Lamar Brown in LSU's class, Tyler Atkinson in Georgia's, and Savion Hiter in both OSU and UGA's classes (as Hiter could reasonably in both teams' "best case scenario" classes, according to these On3 percentages).

When putting the 97 uncommitted top-600 players in each class calculator, here is the projected top ten "best case scenario" classes. Notre Dame would come in at #6.

1. Georgia - 312.28
2. USC - 303.43
3. Bama - 300.90
4. OSU - 300.45
5. TAMU - 295.05
6. ND - 290.61
7. LSU - 288.01
8. Mich - 280.19
9. Oregon - 278.10
10. Texas - 271.51

Obviously there will lots of movements and surprises (see Ojo to Texas Tech), but this feels like a more or less reasonable finish, as things stand right now. What I found interesting was the scarcity of uncommitted players on the board (with plenty more committing in the next several days):
