52 ND - 24 Ark

ND starts to figure a few things out on D. Run game keeps rolling. Carr continues to be confident and efficient.

Interesting that my vote (ND by 4-9) is more conservative than most voters considering I've been less critical than most posters. Regardless of causes, I imagine we can agree ND's D has been crap, and Arkansas is capable of exploiting it. Of course, a lot changes if LenMo and Devonta can play and play at a high level, and Zackery/Golden/Tae should be improving daily, along with Traore/Bothelho (health/athleticism) and Young (FB IQ.)

I voted Irish by 10-15. Given my track record, we know that's not going to happen.

Arkansas is a bottom tier SEC team. Notre Dame, objectively, has better players across the board. Now, they certainly have (1) a home field advantage, and (2) the Petrino > Ash advantage, but again, Notre Dame's the better team. Arkansas couldn't even beat Memphis (albeit, a good G5 team).

The first half, Arkansas will throw everything at ND...keeping ND on its heels. Notre Dame's running attack will be too much and ND pulls away in the 2nd half.

45-24 Irish

We will have more points than they do. I’m going to have to wake up early to get enough alcohol in before kickoff.

Just listened to the II pod and they were all up in the air about who would win. Sampson said if Moore is out (which sounds like that’s the likely case), he’s picking Arkansas to win. Can’t remember if anyone agreed but it definitely gave them all pause. It’s like they’re trying to talk themselves into a win on the basis of this ND team can’t possibly start 1-3 & Arkansas is a mess. Prister picked ST as a difference maker in favor of ND but they all agreed if it came down to a GW FG, they don’t like ND’s chances w/ starting K coming off injury & the true freshman backup who missed horribly on a chip shot in his 1st attempt w/ zero pressure. Prister must’ve forgotten that FG kicking is part of ST. Seems like they all agreed that if Arkansas can get to 35 that it’s a lot to ask your RS freshman QB to lead them to a win on the road.

If Moore / Devonta / the kicker were fully healthy I’d feel like this is the game we put it together.

As it currently stands, idk. I have a hard time seeing us losing 3 straight games we are favored in.

Based off the moneyline for the Miami, A&M, and Arky games, our odds to lose all 3 is 4%!!! (40% chance of a loss v Miami x 30% vs A&M x 35% vs Arky) =4.2%

WE’RE DUE

Arkansas hits at least two trick plays that make us gnash teeth and send Chris Ash off to pace the sidelines looking busy.

At halftime Marcus sends Ash to check out the Walmart Museum and we win 48-35.

ND 35

ND misses 3x field goals and give up 17 unanswered 4th quarter points to lose. Chris Ash fired by Monday.

Come on lax you know better than that. Notre Dame is not going to fire a coach midseason. Although I don’t agree with that, we all know that’s what would happen.

I hate this game. If Leonard Moore is heathy and plays I think we win. If not we lose. And this is assuming nothing changed on defense. But if MF pulled his dick out and took control of the defense this week and we see changes that get us back to the attacking defense we know we win by 10+ even without Moore. So sad this is where we are that we have this many variables.

Going glass half full… I’m thinking the tough competition of the first 2 games helps us pull this one out.

I'm feeling a close and intense offensive (or inept defense on both teams) battle w/ the Irish prevailing 41-34. I anticipate that I'll need to pound a shit load of beer to make it thru this one!

Offense continues to thrive. Arkansas gets points in garbage time, but defense begins to improve over all.

38-20 Irish and the under

Defense forces low completion % ; still gives up 2-3 chunk pass gains. Forces 2 turnovers.

Offense is smooth.

Break this down for me, I mean that sincerely, no animosity.

ND lost to aTm and Miami by a combined 4 points. General consensus is that Arkansas is nowhere near as good, and we played Miami on the road in a tougher environment than we will likely face in Fayetteville.

So, how bad really is ND? we staring down a 4-8 like season? Because if we can't beat Arky, that's likely what we are looking at.

FWIW I don’t agree with this. A&M is closer to Arkansas than they are Miami.

Hopefully Moore is healthy and the personnel differences show to be impactful (Smith, 2H Moore, 4Q Shuler).

Your points are valid. But it’s college football & MF has laid an egg enough times (despite being a great HC & turning in great seasons thus far) that it’s not crazy to pick Hogs in the upset. I’m seeing all these “experts” like Joel Klatt & Herbstreit saying ND will/could run the table. Based on what? Last season? Sorry, this is slightly different personnel w/ a new play caller on D and what looks like a much tougher schedule than last season.

Hog fans have resolved that they will get beaten tomorrow but they also acknowledge that the most Sam Pittman thing to happen would be able to pull off a win vs ND & then shit the bed for the rest of the season. It’s crazy that there’s four losses between these two teams but only by 11 points combined.

Take every single thing I say w/ a huge grain of salt b/c I‘m admittedly irrational being a ND fan living in Arkansas. Go Irish!
