Was BYU chirping about Notre Dame this week? Am I remembering that correctly?
I feel like this is 90% rose colored glasses re last years line. It was good but I don’t remember it being an unstoppable force…RL’s mobility made it seem much better than it was.Yeah seriously. Can anyone explain the OL regression to me? We lost no one to the draft and the only guys who left were pushed out. Why do we look so much softer inside?
Agree. Loved his film coming out of hs. Kid has a nasty steak and loved knocking the crap out of people. Prister insinuated they wereLetting Coogan leave and not guaranteeing him the starting center position to me was the biggest miss of the offseason.
The dude who was supposed to be the anchor/best player got hurt and then two starters went down. It’s not that complicated.Yeah seriously. Can anyone explain the OL regression to me? We lost no one to the draft and the only guys who left were pushed out. Why do we look so much softer inside?
Yes, I definitely was alluding more to the rushing game is where I see the biggest improvements in IU and regression by ND. I would also say ND might be moderately better at pass protection. Carr definitely doesn’t need to scramble nearly as much as Leonard, but that could just be Carr identifying open receivers faster too. Also Penn States been getting a ton of pressure through the middle this game, IU’s qb is just really good at moving the pocket and getting away from the rush.
earlier in the game he was getting yards with his legs on blitzes (the first touchdown being the best example) but Penn State seems to have adjusted.First time watching Mendoza carefully this year. Can see what people like about him but he seems very gettable on heavy pass rush.

Not blown away but I do think his mobility has stopped this from being a PSU sack party type day.
Agree with this.Sorry what I mean is that he seems to not have a good feel for pressure particularly from the left side. Lots of times this game where he is putting himself om danger by holding on to the ball too long and not feeling the blindside pressure. His size helps him a lot with that though, because he's able to power through a lot of contact.
I’m not sure guaranteeing a starting position is ever a good idea.Letting Coogan leave and not guaranteeing him the starting center position to me was the biggest miss of the offseason.
I didn’t mean it exactly like that. I meant you pay him the money to keep him and tell him the position is his if keeps up the effort and play that got him to where he was. It is my understanding that is not how it went and they basically told him he was already passed by.I’m not sure guaranteeing a starting position is ever a good idea.
Is he? He’s been a bit luckyI’m not sure Mendoza has #1 overall talent but man is he good at playing QB.
Of TT D is going to go soft now. Is this going to be Texas Vandy all over? TT should be up 45-0BYU finally gets on the board with 7 and a half minutes remaining in the game
BYU losing the way they’ve been should also be disqualifyingLosing to this Penn St. team should be disqualifying.
