I haven't been to Minnesota but most other parts of Canada are great. Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, the Canadian Rockies... beautiful.

All states have something to offer - although I am really trying to figure out what the great state of Indiana has to offer outside of Notre Dame.

I know you didn't mention Mississippi, but I lived in Natchez for nearly 3 years working on an offshore rig. I spent plenty of time in the general south. It was so amazing I left for a 1 year consulting job on a rig in Rumaila (Iraq) & never once regretted the decision.

As far as the south goes, I enjoy the coast & inland bass fishing. Anything else, I'd rather be north of the Ohio River. Just my opinion

I just don't understand how some people lock themselves into this worldview that only small slivers of this country are beautiful or great. This country is the size of a continent and I've lived on both coasts and places in between and there's beauty if every area I've been in. I've lived among the footwashing Baptists of the flatlands of the deep south, the hillbillies of the Blue Ridge, the squareheads of the Upper Midwest, the gorgeous Pacific Coast, and the vast expanses of the High Desert (my home truly), and everywhere I've been has good and bad, but it's all beautiful.

Obviously, preferences are natural and fine. I prefer west of the Mississippi for sure, but this weird almost ideology about how "the south is a 3rd world shithole" is stupid and so out of touch with reality I can't imagine thinking that way.
