I would say Minchey should be ready by now, and if the staff isn't sold on Angeli he certainly has been here long enough. Carr should obviously get a pass though, he hasn't even been here a full year and has been injured. I could see Carr being ready if he was healthy, but I'd also be willing to give him another year since he missed much of this year. That said, Freeman has already said that the QB for next year is already on roster, so I'm going to assume we aren't taking a transfer QB for 2025 and honestly I don't want anyone. I think any of our own guys has earned the honor of being the starter after sticking it out the last two years behind transfers.

Good refresher piece covering the portal deadlines and the intricacies re: those various deadlines. For example, it explains that there were undergrad players still flowing into the portal on Sunday and Monday likely due to paperwork processing time.

This is probably a combo of interest, fit, and production. With that, not sure there's too much out there at this point. The KY freshman receiver (Hardley Gilmore IV) sounds like he's probably gonna withdraw from the portal and stay with the team; there is this Khai Prean WR from Tulane who has speed and had a great HS senior season but the sophomore has done nothing at LSU or his more recent team, Tulane, so no documented college experience.

An FCS WR for SDS (Griffin Wilde) who had a great 2024 just entered the portal over the weekend, but with a DNC tag so he's 99.9% for sure going to Wazzou to join the new coach there, his former SDS coach. The speedster posted 71 catches for 1,154 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

I don’t think he’s going to Washington St. I’ve heard Louisville and Nebraska as potential landing spots. If the SDSU OC is going to Washington St, Wilde definitely isn’t.

He never said that. He said our future qb is on the roster, which is pretty open ended. They 100% kicked tires on a top transfer qb and seems like they stuck out. Just hoping that 4-5m saved can land us our pick of the litter at a couple other positions

So do we have any reason to believe we have multiple guys incoming still aside from just a lone rumor from a week ago?? Honest question wondering if I should start to expect nothing,…

Wrong. His direct quote was "We have no plans on going to the transfer portal for a quarterback."

Naw you’re wrong my dude. Way to find one quote, which is also open ended saying they have no plans and btw that is a month old. Guess what, plans change and MF is a master at using the correct rhetoric to not dig himself into any holes. They were looking for a qb, that is for sure. Dale said it well yesterday when he pointed out all the media outlets said we weren’t going to get a qb at the exact same time. Not a coincidence.

Yep. What do they think these “agents” do the 49 weeks a year that the portal isn’t open.
And is it really tampering if Texas is basically holding the door open for him to leave and make way for Manning anyway?

Correct. I’m certainly that if we went back we could find similar posts re Cam Ward from last year when we’d heard he was in the portal. Full body of work. I mean he did put up 38 on Ga. this year no?
