I gurantee Chansi leaving is more so because he thought their should be a change at OC and didn't agree with the play calling versus players not liking how he coached.

Cool, if we're just going to throw out baseless speculation, I'll "guarantee" that Tommy left ND because Saban gave him a free shot at Ms. Terry and TR likes the older ladies versus not wanting to pass up the opportunity to play for the best coach of all time.

You are better than me. I think he should be flat out gone.
I think a lot of people hold grudges against people for not performing to their expectations or desires. This in turn causes them to divorce logic in favor of rejecting them in an absolutist way.

It's most often, but not exclusively, seen in toddler's and those with diminished faculties (alcohol, old age, drug abuse and genetic predisposition) or those who had a parent who failed to model the behavior required for a developing adolescent.

I wrote a dissertation on it. You can read it at www.throwthebabyoutwiththebathwater.com

So, what if someone has 4 of the 5? On a scale of 1-Potato, how screwed are they?

You call it whatever you want. You apparently never worked at an agency in which someone was demoted and kept on the staff. It is not pleasant. I have seen this at 2 different jobs that this has happened. It causes a lot of problems and that’s with adults. You don’t need to add the 18-19 years to the mix.

I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the above. I thought he did well as TE coach and players like him. If he wanted to stay at ND bad enough that he'd take the demotion, then I would hope their wouldn't be a disgruntled employee fomenting insurrection.

But you are 100% spot on that I haven't experienced the dynamic and it sounds like you have and it left an indelible mark. No doubt, these are the headaches million dollar coaches must be prepared to address. I'm just having fun amidst the flurry of positive and negative news we see rushing in every day. Some posters just can't wait to post the new negative thing they heard/read/thought and I approach most things with a strong dose of levity to help myself counterbalance.

So...this hire is looking pretty critical at the moment. Freeman has already had two bad hires on O (Stuckey and Parker). I don't think he can afford another.

Critical and timely. Can't keep current WRs happy if antsy, can't recruit new WRs from portal. I hope MF has cleared the desk the past 48 hours and is moments from signing a new WR coach because we'll continue to bleed until then.

Hopefully just waiting for the end of the Oregon v. Washington game.

So if it's critical to get a new WR coach sooner rather than later, with Cignetti going to Indiana and JMU not eligible to play in Sun Belt conf. championship (altho' they may have a nice bowl game against Liberty), why not go after Mike Shanahan (yes, I will keep beating this dead horse) and convince him to come to ND where although kind of a shit show, we still have some top receivers and a stud QB coming in January (maybe Dec) and it will be better for your career to come here vs. who knows what you're getting with Indiana other than your current HC. Although we would need to make him Co-OC and WR coach for sure. Isn't there the potential that if Washington wins and they're in the CFP, JaMarcus Shephard ain't coming until January?
