After that it really depends on circumstance. For instance I really dislike LSU, Colorado, and Auburn right now but that largely is related to who they have as their head coaches currently. I'll be ambivalent about them one day.

Other programs like BC and MSU I don't really hate. I enjoy beating them when they get uppity, but it's hard to hate the nail when you're the hammer.

Herbstreit tweets about his dog a lot in the past year or so. I see he has him in the booth tonight. It’s not the first time I’ve wondered this but is he an emotional support dog? I wasn’t aware Kirk had gone through any trauma but it could be personal to him. Just curious.

I think it might be he just loves his dog…the dog was just diagnosed with Leukemia and he’s been accompanying Herbstreit this season. He is also registered as an emotional support dog.

Sneaky good choice and I really agree — and we don’t play them too often. Horrendous, trashy, obnoxious fanbase with very little to show for it. East Tennessee, albeit a beautiful area, is chock full of weirdos. Those fucks make me uncomfortable.

I grew up in the 70s/80s watching Holtz, Bo, Woody, Bear, Dooley, etc. That era is long gone. There is no more loyalty. They’re all mercenaries for better or for worse. I don’t root for HC. I root for the Univ. of Notre Dame. Like 2155 said, BK was never gonna get ND to the top of the mountain so I’m fine w/ him leaving. The way he went about it sucked but I’m a big boy and am more happy w/ MF at this juncture. Dan Devine was a hard HC to love but he led ND to a natty. BK is a douchebag but I still hate ND’s rivals more than BK. But to each their own.

As for the programs I most dislike:

Michigan and it's not really close. Just such pompous douchebags. I used to feel like they were one who, like us, tried to do things the right way but the Harbaugh era ended that.

After that:
Florida State
BC (maybe b/c I'm from Boston but their fans are just such punk-ass runt cousin wannabes).
A&M. Always so overhyped. And apparently stone-cold weirdos.

Damn, that sucks.
Golden Retrievers are an amazing breed, but that life expectancy is less then ideal.
My mom and dad have had (4) in my lifetime and I’m not sure any of them saw a second decade.
Glad Kirk gets to have these moments with his pup, especially if the end is near.
