With the Seniors and GS on the roster and guys leaving we at a min should have room for 29 guys in 2024 class now if I was the staff I would push that to 33. They need to either use the portal and bring in guys with multiple years fill it all with the 2024 class.

Came across CJ Carr's teammate at tight end. He was just CB'd to Louisville. No offer from ND, but a pretty national offer list with some nice suitors like Miami, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc. I wonder if he's someone they'd offer late if they have room.

Dohn reported Rudolph's talking to Jack Small.

Has the perfect OT offer list... if he was a '25.

Fairly accomplished in the shot put as well. If you’re going to miss, miss big and athletic.

Loy bringing attention to a new name at S. Article is premium but here it is.

What happened to the other Louisiana safety that was high on ND? Pretty sure BobbyMac brought him up a few times that we were surprisingly in it.

Tylen Singleton maybe? I think he visited in March. No clue where things currently stand.

I believe this is the Brian Dohn article Crus was referencing above.

All of Jordan Thomas, Kaj Sanders, and Aidan Lynch mentioned but not in the same breath as ND. Seems plausible to remove them from lists until they are.

Very aggressive pursuit at RB this cycle. Even before the Logan Diggs news broke.

Notre Dame's top 7 commits in the 2024 class all play on the offensive side of the ball. That could be good, bad, or mean absolutely nothing.

But that is a big difference from the Kelly/Rees days.

The Ryan Roberts recruiting show on IB today was ridiculous long.
They discussed transfers, breakout spring players, possible surprise commits, etc…but a large part was discussing the ‘24 recruiting status by position.
I actually caught the part I was most curious about while on my run, (the only part I heard of the 3+ hours show).
They discussed Safety, LB & OL recruiting & how worrisome it is.
They went through each one, discussed the status of each possible recruit, and a backstory of the troubles each group is facing.
It’s a really good listen if you have time & want the unfiltered opinion of Roberts & Driskell on those position groups.
Roberts, as always, is very professional and tries to stay positive, but Driskell is a little irked & is straight-forward about a few things.

Off the top of my head they talked about;

OL:
Say they aren’t really sure how Rudolph is evaluating players because kids that aren’t Tackles he loves at OT, and he sees things in players (position-wise) no one else sees.

Said that Rudolph didn’t offer Lambert while at VT, despite that being in his recruiting area, so the relationship is not strong. Said HH & Lambert had a strong relationship and he would probably already be in the class with HH. They aren’t really sure what the status is now with Lambert & ND.

Said that Rudolph seems to be going after guys he had prior contact with, like Knapp, over kids who are better, like Caleb Brewer. Said Rudolph is the only person they know who didn’t like Brewer. Said Brewer 100% would be in the class with HH.

Said Prescod is peculiar because they thought he was committing at the BG game & never did. He might take other OVs into the summer now.

They talked about Brix, but can’t remember what they said, but I don’t think they were happy?

LB:
Talked about how ND has basically 5 guys for 3 spots. And ND will need to hit the inside straight to get the class they want, but that’s probably not happening.
Said they feel ND has a very slight lead for KVA, but they talked to OSU insiders they know & all of them feel OSU has the lead now, so ND will have to close on OVs.
Said ND can’t really expand the board, because they already have multiple times & have offered a ton of LBs.

Safety:
Said they talked to Davis Andrews and were really surprised to hear he is thinking of stretching he recruitment out now, which is a really bad sign for ND Safety recruiting.

If talked about all the different guys individually, & really no one has ND as the clear leader.
Said there are a few guys ND is trying to get on campus.
They talked about Lane, Miles, McClain, Gallegos, Menke.

It’s an interesting listen if you can just get to the part about those positions. It’s a lot more than what I said above.
I’m going to try to listen to the other positions later when I have another hour.

Thanks for the write up.

Couple of questions about two quotes:

kids that aren’t Tackles he loves at OT

Does this mean kids that aren't tackles in their opinion or kids who are not listed as OT's by the services?

Rudolph seems to be going after guys he had prior contact with, like Knapp, over kids who are better, like Caleb Brewer

Are they saying Brewer is better in their opinion or he is better per his current ranking/rating?

They meant kids who they (Roberts & Driskell) project as inside guys in college, Rudolph likes at OT. They said they don’t understand how he is evaluating some of the OL recruits.

They think Brewer is better in their opinion than Knapp. They like Brewer a lot & think he is better than other kids Rudolph is pushing harder for than he did Brewer. They said Rudolph just didn’t like Brewer too much.

Ehh I’m fine with OL recruiting and Brewer was never 100% coming here I think Penn State was always where he was headed. I’m fine where safety recruiting is Hobbs and Moore both could be safeties down the road, Urlacher is on Board land 2 more guys and we are golden, plus you can explore the portal still. Not sure where LB recruiting is headed but we have tons of young LB on the roster so we might need 2 or 3?

Brewer was not always headed to PSU.
ND was his clear leader and he was close to going public.
You are fine with Safety recruiting?
