To add, it’s on the road. Kyle Field can be one of the most daunting stadiums to play a game in as the visiting team.

If Freeman is the coach we all hope and want him to be this should an undefeated season. With the schedule, the coordinators, and the talent this team is primed for a playoff run. This team should make it to the 3rd round and then anything can happen. With how everything has aligned if Freeman can’t bring an undefeated season this year i fear he can still be a really good coach but probably not an all time great. We should be able to beat AtM 24-10. Not saying we will but we should beat able to.

If A&M are still trying to figure our their O-line, our defensive front could have a big day.

I think ND wins, but there are legit reasons to stress, whether ND is better or not.

Freeman's teams have not played well on the road in his short tenure.

Cautious optimism is the way to proceed.

This is what worries me:

Notre Dame:
1. The O-line is pretty new and needs time to gel.
2. Same with Denbrock: A very good OC but it will be his first game calling plays for ND and he also needs time to adjust to his player's strengths and weaknesses.
3. Same with Leonard: He missed spring practice and this will be his first game with ND. He needs time to gel with his offense.
4. 1st game on the road, at night, in a hostile environment.

T A&M:
1. They did lose their head coach but Elko is tough and is no slouch. They improved in that regard
2. Their DL is very good and will face an O-line that is one of Notre Dame's biggest question mark. Leonard better get ready to get moving, and fast.
3 Their QB has tons of talent
4. They rarely lose at home.
5. They have a lot of talent that was wasted under Fisher, but may live up to their hype with Elko.

I would be much more confident if this game was played in the middle of the season after the offense has had time to gel.

Anyone that doesn't share any of these concerns is kinda goofy, imo

But ND's defense against A+M's anemic turrble line is way more of a concern for them than there Dline is for us.

I'm confident, but worried. That's not new for me as an Irish fan in these situations


(Sorry I'm not typing very well, I'm a little high, listening to Phish play live, and thinking about ND at the same time. I get a little flustered)

He could be on the hot seat going into 2025 if he doesn't at least make the playoffs, especially if recruiting continues to trend downward. Very critical year for him.

Sincere question: What is it that you think Vegas knows that a board full of highly-engaged Notre Dame fans does not?
They might see the world through less blue/gold-tinted glasses than we do. But the basic information about both teams is what it is.

Because Vegas uses strictly numbers for power ratings. There’s no emotion involved.

Ehh, that sounds impressive until you look at those 3 SEC teams:

vs. Auburn W 27-10 (6-7)
vs. Arkansas W 34-22 (4-8)
vs. South Carolina W 30-17 (5-7)

All three teams had losing records, and they were all quite terrible.

I think it's safe to say that the environment (and weather) will be hostile....AND....no one knows what to fully expect from A&M given all the turnover and new staff. Not sure history is relevant for this game.

Arkansas was a neutral site game. Other home win was 51-10 over Miss St. (5-7) I don't know if you can call an SEC team with a losing record "terrible".
