What are the odds Marcus Freeman and ND wins the recruiting battle in year one vs Brian Kelly and LSU?

ND -1000 odds. LSU is in on very few top 100 players from here out. Shelton Sampson is their best bet at a 5 star. Today they took the 800th ranked player at corner. I suspect you see a few more RKG types. I’d even bet if ND’s class today stopped after Gray, ND would still finish ahead of LSU

And he's a junior. Bell will challenge for nickel snaps immediately if he can hold the point of attack.

A bit hyperbolic but that's what summers are for....and it's independence day!
He's way too raw at CB to get any meaningful plays as a freshman. Now as a returner or a gunner...

Really enjoying this new staff and the off season so far.

More pieces left to the 2023 class but it's looking like less of a puzzle now and has really taken shape as a group of talented players filling multiple positions of need.

I guess we'll see. Raw talent with nationally ranked speed is a difficult combination to put expectations on. I went high, you went low, we'll see how it plays out.

National Consensus is this is a deep QB class and I agree with that. If Carr stays in the '24 class, I think there are a few guys that would be reasonable targets. Rickie Collins and Kenny Minchey would be a couple others.

I’m hearing Austin Novosad, Kenny Minchey, and Rickie Collins.

Anyone know who is most likely?

Don't know who is the most likely, but I've read that Novosad is the least likely. He's got A&M family ties and seems to be "wrapping up his process" in the next week or so. And by that, I mean he's either deciding to stick with Baylor or flip to A&M or Ohio St. Seems the ship has sailed there a bit. Collins is still uncommitted so one figures that'd be the easiest in. No idea about Minchi though

Collins is committed to Purdue

So is it safe to assume that Oregon pays better than LSU?
No, I think Bama is flirting with taking a different kid.

Sounds like Collins is in love with Purdue and turned down Michigan.

So Minchey or Brock Glenn are most likely.

I feel like I read this somewhere but what total does ND end up with if we land Ausberry, Love, Greathouse, and Hanafin? Right now ND sits at 280 points on 247 composite. Will the addition of those guys put us up to 300?

Also I wish Dante the best. He would have been the shining star on top of this class and probably put us over the top to retain the #1 overall class due to possibly nudging one or two of Downs, Mpemba, and Houston towards ND as well..

Yesterday Driskell was acting like Novosad was the best option. I too was reading articles that makes it seem like he's not an option. One name that keeps getting mentioned is Brock Glenn. Driskell said he has a big arm, but not the best option as he's very raw.

Close. It would get us to 296.51.

We would need a ranked 4 Star QB with that group.
If ND would have gotten J Moore we would be at 301+. So ND will need a 25th to get over 300 probably.

I'm no analyst. Just interesting. Who do you like? It sounds to me like Collins and Novosad are out? So Minchey vs Glenn? Again, no expert, but Glenn can't hit the broad side of a barn from what I can see. Minchey appears mediocre, but kind of slow, inaccurate, and inconsistent to me. But his hair cut looks to slightly resemble Dante's, so maybe the staff will go all in on him just because of that. Both leaving a lot to be desired imo. In my view, Brock Glenn looks like a MAC QB.

After watching my initial reaction would be Novosad > Collins >> Minchey > Glenn. Minchey and Glenn don't look very good imo. I'd be happy with either Novosad or Collins...

Novosad looks like a stud. Wish we had a shot with him.
Agree. He definitely looks the most polished. Collins appears to have some potential. His throwing motion on some of the deep balls was pretty long but he looks to have quick feet and fairly accurate.
