I don’t allow Rees to sign a kid because he stinks at evaluating unless it’s the kid he early identified before most of the country

It’s not very hard to knock Rees’ recruiting and yet you still manage nonsensical points
No, it's because IMO Arnold is one of the 3 best QB's in the class. A blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Should we drop CJ Carr? Low odds he’s a good eval since Rees just had his one blind nut

Your reading skills need some work.

"whatever kid they jump in on late will more than likely be a waste of a scholarship or not pan out. Bring in a grad transfer and call it a day."

I read it. Doesn’t change the irony I thought it had. Rees is bad at evaluating except the exceptions you choose

Dylan Lonergan would have been a good ND fit too. Bama is taking both Holstein and Lonergan. I would just assume Lonergan is going to really focus on baseball.

BD ordering all troops to stop talking about 23 QB recruiting for 2 weeks to "let it play out"

A. The staff has something cooking and we will have a better idea in a couple weeks
B. He is sick of handling questions on the QB situation
He thinks he is a Panda.....

Why wouldn’t you do both?
The issue maybe that the staff feels they need a HS QB to be part of the class to hold the receiving recruits in the class.

I mean if we can't do better than Angeli then what's the point? But I think if they take some 3 star its to have a QB in the class to have a QB in the class from optics position. Thats all the logic I can figure.

FWIW, Ian Book was just some three-star, recruited as a placeholder between alleged studs in Wimbush and Phil. Obviously they don’t all turn out to be the winningest QB in program history, but you don’t really know what you’ve got in a QB until he’s on campus for awhile.

Either way, there is zero downside to taking a ‘23 QB, even if he’s not elite, even if he never plays. There are always scholarships, and if he wants to transfer in a couple years, OK. We need more bodies in the QB room, period.

Book does have the most wins but as good as he was some of those stats are are overrated. How many games did the defense win and how many games did the running game win?

But one thing rating don't show you is the mental toughness and the work ethic both Book did well with.

Ian Book wasn’t winning no Heisman, sure. And no ‘23 QB we land at this point in the cycle will either. But we don’t need that. We just need someone who can capably run the offense in three years if, say, Carr doesn’t pan out.

Jacobe Robinson is getting accommodation and meals comped while he watches his future team play.
Rees feels the banter has been organic and a connection is forming.
Pyne goes 4/12 for 66 yards with 2 passes batted down at the line of scrimmage.
Gug insiders feeling confident.
Loy claims there will be a mystery QB at the USC game.
Its Malachi Nelson in full Trojans gameday attire.

Loy just posted that "for the first time a while" he believes ND is in good position for a very good 23 QB recruit.

He then said he can't say anything yet and needs to check sources.

It's in the bag
If it’s a very good recruit I’m guessing Jackson Arnold?! One can dream right
