I didn’t realize Absher is as big as he is.

Was it Gobaira who was having trouble adding weight? He’s listed at 6’ 4-5/8” and 256, it seems he’s getting to be good sized if so.
I didn't either.

Big fan of Gobaira. I think he's going to have his moments this year.

Merriweather is going to be your deep threat this year. Thomas/Greathouse are going to see the bulk of the targets within 15 yards of the LOS in my opinion. Tyree will be a gadget player moved all over.

I do not expect Merriweather to have more than like ~35 catches this year.
Colzie should gets some run too, he seems to get smoother every time I see him.

I also think that Buchner‘s athletic ability and physical gifts would have allowed him to stand out in a practice setting as compared to Hartman. However, after you factor in real game experience, Hartman surpasses Buchner when it counts. Obviously, Buchner may end up being the player that many thought he could be but the jury is still out.
Eh TB couldn’t really run in practice. Hartman should stand it out it’s where QBs who sit in pocket and make quick decisions and have accuracy should shine.

I want to give my OPINION, so this isnt factual or said by anyone, just MY opinion…
I think Ty Chan could be a strong candidate to be the one who leaves after fall camp…or at least after the season.
Was out with the 3’s today, passed up by multiple freshmen, & was out of shape.
Not a good combo.
Yeah I'm guessing Jaguash is your leading guy to take over LT after this year.

My question will be, is there any reason to believe one of/all Kiser, Bertrand, or Liufau take a serious step forward? Because none have been good the last couple of years and we know how ND is, never playing talented players (cough, Botelho) until they're forced to.

Hoping at least Liufau is gaining some speed and confidence on year two post surgery.

Kiser and Bertrand are both good college linebackers

I think Kiser and Bertrand are actually quite good and loaded with experience. Liafau has been inconsistent, but he's got loads of potential if he can put it all together. The beat writers were raving about him in Fall Camp in 2021 before he broke his leg and that certainly slowed is progress. Bertrand would've exceeded 100 tackles for the second year in a row last year if it weren't for the unfortunate targeting infractions.

Freeman said in his presser today that he's going to challenge Golden to get the 2s and 3s in the mix with the 1s once those three are up to speed and ready for the season, so that they're ready to step up should any of those three go down.

For one thing, they shouldn't have to stay on the field for a billion snaps each.

Kinda hard to knock the LB’s just learning a new system. It’s year two so I’d expect our intelligent group will be much improved.

Regarding Botelho, he had veterans in front of him. Not saying he wasn’t good enough to get more time, just hard to be out the known commodities. Plus BK isn’t here anymore,

He was locked down by Morrison, Hart & Mickey.
this was pre practice start - just story lines by position. I would have thought he deserved a mention. especially in the part discussing the deep threat. Writer went straight to the true freshman.

Out of curiosity I took a glance at The Shamrock and there still hasn't been any content added since April 24th.
Fortuna is out at The Athletic so it's just Pete. Several of The Athletics' podcasts are on hiatus currently.

The last show with Fortuna was in February and Pete did three by himself after that.

Given the upheaval at The Athletic/NYT I am curious how things will be different going forward. I can't help wondering if there even will be a podcast.

Last year the podcast had 2 February episodes, 2 March episodes, 3 April episodes, 4 May episodes, 3 June episodes, 1 July episode, and 5 August episodes.

This year it's been 1 February, 1 March (without Matt), 2 April (without Matt), 0 May, 0 June, 0 July...

I am in rip van winkle mode on tosh.

And I hate the fact I am.

I really thought we got the best tackle in the class that year. Possibly the biggest disappointment I can remember in recent past. I'll give him credit for at least sticking it out and not transferring out.

I think Pete also just doesn't like doing the podcast. At least with II the focus isn't on him leading it, so he seems more comfortable. I never got that vibe from him on The Shamrock
