I honor of week eleven, here's a replay of Notre Dame finding their super powers and breaking Clemson:
Three weeks left! Time to absorb as much football as possible, because the season is drawing to a close.
What are we looking for this week?
- ND's response to the Clemson game, and also their response to Navy's frustrating play style.
- PLAYOFF CHAOS. Upsets. Upstarts. Unexpected results. Unearned rankings. ND isn't making the playoff, so let's hope for maximum soap opera style entertainment. I want to see Jim Harbaugh have an emotional breakdown. I want to see Ryan Day trying to fight other coaches. I want to see Brian Kelly turn political, only to lose a game prior to SECCG. Give me the DRAMA.
- We have reached the point of the season where there is football on seven nights per week... we are blessed by the weeknight efforts of the #FunBelt and #Maction.
(PS: Peep the new column 👀 ... not in love with the spread to o/u formatting, give me suggestions)
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 9
- I am not going to lie to you guys... I don't know shit about these matchups. Optimal time to channel-surf between whichever matchup is closest quarter-to-quarter.
THURSDAY, NOV. 10
- Both of these teams fold at the first sign of quality competition... someone has to come out a winner!
- Just looking for some standard #FunBelt chaos
FRIDAY, NOV. 11
- Go Bearcats. NIP AT NIGHT. NIP AT NIGHT. NIP AT NIGHT. Nippert will be rocking and the crowd will be blacked out. Might have to go to this one.
- A nice staggered start time here to scout USC against the happless Buffs.
- Thanks for always being on our TV's late at night while we fall asleep, Fresno State. You are an integral part of our watch party experience.
SATURDAY, NOV. 12 - EARLY
- GO IRISH. BEAT NAVY. Score on your first drive. Stop Navy on their first drive. If either of these things fail, it will be a dog fight. We don't want that.
- You could pick Tenn/Mizzou, but I will be watching to see if Ohio State bounces back, or if they are just a team that struggles a bit right now.
- LSU hangover game... how does BK rally the troops after a giant win? Are they ahead of schedule, or is Bama down bad?
- My soft spots for both Clark Lea and UK are on a collision course... here's hoping for a fun game. (sub Purdue/Illini, OU/WVU, or Rutgers/Sparty)
- I love watching Mike Elko's squad. They play really good, complimentary football already. I think he's got the goods, and he won't be long for Duke.
SATURDAY, NOV. 12 - AFTERNOON
- A loaded afternoon window starts with what will probably be a blowout. Hopefully the game before it on ABC was, as well.
- Usually this is a "pray for team playing Bama after Bama lost/played poorly," but I don't think Saban's squad has that kind of juice this year. Look for Lane to try and beat his old boss while he's down.
- REALLY interested for this one, both because Louisville is surprisingly good this year, and to see how Clemson responds (and who starts at QB).
- The return of Phil J. to the lineup... or is it? If so, tune in and see if he is immediately back to getting pummeled behind his OL before next week's game @ ND.
- Could be a preview of the AAC championship in a few weeks, as well as a display for the Group-of-5 NY6 rep... unless Cincy can win out and upset Tulane. Then it's AAC chaos.
- Purely included for those that love low-scoring affairs.
- App State is fun to watch, even if they are a bit down this year. Also always curious to see how our old pals Marshall look on a week-to-week basis.
- A buffer game on the SEC Network to bridge us over to the late games once the 3:30 games have ended. Go Cocks.
SATURDAY, NOV. 12 - LATE
- A loaded late slate (a good week of football!) starts with the #1 Dawgs on the road and at the mercy of the cowbells. Is this a prime Leach upset spot??
- Washington is back in the top 25 for some reason, but Oregon should handle them.
- Kansas State nearly came back against Tejas last week, but fell short... can they rebound, or does Baylor pull the upset and extend their 3-game win streak?
- PLAYOFF CHAOS ALERT. Texas could f*ck it all up for the Big XII right here by pulling the upset, and the analytics still LOVE the Longhorns.
- A really nice ACC matchup here will fly under the radar. Wake is in a valley right now after losing 2 straight, but can keep up in a shootout. UNC winning helps ND's longshot NY6 hopes.
- Just how low can the Aggies sink? A loss here might get Jimbo left on the tarmac, massive buyout or not.
- Another fun matchup that won't get many eyeballs, but could be good commercial break material. Cuse are in a slump; the Noles waxed Miami last week.
SATURDAY, NOV. 12 - NIGHT CAP
- The Cardinal have been... not good since upsetting ND. Really frustrating. Rooting for Utah to just break their will and make Shaw look silly.
- UCLA can be an agent of PLAYOFF CHAOS... but this game doesn't really affect that. Their game against USC is the one to watch for.
- Broncos on the road. No smurf turf for this night cap :-(
- Football that's on TV late.
