I think we will end up being fine WR but we will need to get about 4-5 guys for 2023 class. It all depends on who stays and who goes. If things get tight does anyone see us maybe having Watts play both ways, Jo Jo Johnson could move over to WR, you maybe also might see Tyree play more WR with diggs being the lead back. I could also see Jadarian Price getting some reps at WR.

Hard pass on having Watts play both ways.

But I can definitely see JoJo being moved to slot.

It's another decent class, not a contender.

Lucas Anthony is the 4th highest rated DL in Texas A&M's class. He would have been our 2nd highest commit overall.

https://247sports.com/college/texas-am/Season/2022-Football/Commits/

A&M has been stock piling really good classes for quite a few years now, but they will consistentl be a 7-5 - 9-3 team with the occasional 10-2 or 11-1 mixed in every 5 or so years. I am just not convinced that Jimbo Fisher is a great coach. We have consistently done more with less, and there is definitely a big upswing in the direction of our recruiting going forward.

It's progress. On paper it's the second best class signed since before BK got here. The highest Blue Chip % and player average since the infamous 2013 class that was filled with transfers, busts, and guys who had their careers ruined by injury. I think the coaching staff has figured out fit a lot better since then, and wouldn't be surprised if this ends up looking like a stellar class in a few years.

May be a touch of topic, but I hope not too much.

Is there a general consensus on the best paid sites?

Irish Insider seems to be the front runner, no?

2 years ago, I would of said ISD hands down. It's not been the same as years past. IMO. If you want film breakdown of the games and the recruits, ISD is the way

If you want to taste the recruiting Kool-aid, 247 is for you. I think Tom Loy has gotten much better over the last year. Not great, but getting better.

USC signed 'better' classes than us, including several top 5 classes, from 2014-18. Meanwhile Clemson didn't break I believe 9th in the class rankings during their run. Those rankings matter and you want to be in the top 10 or so but let's not go nuts, at the margins they don't mean that much.

It's still ISD.

And I don't think it's close. Loy's gotten better, but Mike has probably his best staff together with Matt, Christian and Jamie all firmly entrenched.

I need a Venn Diagram for Folks who enjoy Driskell and those who think January 6th was overblown by the media

Don’t get all the Driskell hate. Man… If you don’t like him don’t listen or read. I’m guessing some don’t like his politics or whatever, but holy crap the constant shots are tired. It’s consistently the same people that generally hold the same views. Different strokes for different folks.

On3 is currently doing a $1 for 1 year offer if you want a low risk taste of what they have to offer. Pretty sure it's all the BGI guys who will be going over there. Never had Rivals so can't speak to the quality of coverage.

For 247 the main draw is probably Loy, who is basically a propaganda arm of the staff. He gets a lot of good info though. Very active board if you can stomach it enough to read in the first place.

ISD if you only care about ND

247 if you bother to read other team info/perspective. Ex. Could go on LSU board and read their VIP coaching updates or Michigan and their version of Walker updates.

Rivals don’t bother at this stage it’s gonna be On3. Singer and Loy have similar info and On3 has similar benefit of 247 it’s just still a building site so it’d probably defer to 247 > On3 at this stage. Loy can be overly optimistic and Singer has a attitude if you had to nitpick differences. Prister (247) is probably better team coverage than the Rivals/On3 guys.

They never get much shine on here but from a quality perspective (as opposed to an info dump perspective) I really like Prister and especially O'Malley's writing. O'Malley's "I have ___ things to say" is my most anticipated weekly column every season. Every single one makes me laugh.

ISD has two tiers, with the second one being about double the yearly price of the first tier and seems the only additional thing you get is access to the varsity forum. Is the varsity forum what you would pay to be on to get all the inside scoops?

Are there names to know? Are there recent twitter follows? Anyone tapped into the inner workings of the gug machine?

They are the same names that everyone is already talking about here. ND definitely needs some warm bodies at WR just to get through spring practice. Whether it is transfers or signees is yet to be seen. There are also still rumblings about transfers, so if Styles or Colzie leave (like was rumored earlier in the year) then it will be a dire situation.

From that update it does sound like Del messed up by not going after Grimes and the NW kid when it was clear that Walker/Williams were iffy.

Not sure where to put this, but does Les Stroud (Survivorman) have some connection to ND? So badass to see him in some of the NSD player videos!

Not to be a pedant, but it would be more informative (and easier) to use the median.

EDIT: In 2013 the median (12th out of 23) was #193. Excluding specialists the 2022 class has 20 guys in it right now. Assuming they add one more (for a total of 21) that median is 195. If they add three more to match the (non-specialist) size of the 2013 class the median is 200 on the nose.

So by this metric it's just a hair behind the 2013 group and doesn't say anything different from what Sinclair said in the original tweet.

Yea this really tells us nothing. You could sign prospects #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, and then have a scholarship to throw at the coaches son whos ranked #1500. That comes out to an average ranking of 265. Which is misleading based on both the the distribution of the talent, and the size of the class as a whole which plays a major factor.

But we all know we didn’t do that type of scenario this year or any of those previous years, so the comparison is still useful

It's a great group. All the LB's which gives them a leg up on basically taking over the defense in '23. Ford and Gobaira, as well, might not be needed next year but they will certainly be in '23. Since Bellamy is the most likely to S, I think that's a big addition.

I don't know if this has made it's way to the board yet but here is Loy's update on the WR situation. I don't know if this makes me feel better or worse. That they went after guys but couldn't get any of them.
