Gosh, I want too but I just can't. He took his OSU unofficial in an Zeke Elliot jersey. I mean, how shocked would we be if a QB showed up rocking a Brady Quinn jersey and didn't sign with us.

I'd be even more devastated if a QB was using a Notre Dame golf bag out in public and then decommitted or some such travesty

Oh, the horror. That's the stuff that makes the eyes blead.

I shit you not, I was watching some of Elite 11 highlights over the weekend and I had flashbacks to how excited I was about Barnett as the future of the program. Loved his running ability and big arm. Boy was that a missed eval, by a lot of people, lol.

I think partly missed eval, partly Bama fucked up his development, and partly he fucked up his own development.

Conversely: Could you imagine what IE would have been like if Barnett would have stuck with ND, arrived as a near-consensus savior-type prospect, and then still ended up being just kind of 'meh' as a QB??? It would have been a shit show around here for however long he stayed in the program (o/u at 2.5 years), with 30+ threads dedicated to him specifically, and another 15 dedicated to BK's failure to develop him.

So true. Instead it was Brandon Wimbush. I still can't believe he fell a part like he did as well. So much bizarreness with ND QB recruiting.

Sounds like Five Star Phil’s ND experience haha

Thanks for the update Luccy
you mentioned a recruit taking more than one official at the same school.

I was under the impression that recruits can't do that?

I don’t follow recruiting anymore as religiously as I have in the past. But this class could end up being the highest rated recruiting class that I can remember, or maybe ever. Im not sure of how many we are taking this class but if it’s 20-22 with whose left on the board we could take over the #1 spot at least for a little while. The possibility is also there that we finish in the top 5.

I know recruiting rankings mean squat if you can’t doing anything with it. But, in the off season these are wins for ND to me.

I actually picked up on this from Singer’s Cyrus Moss article and then he coincidentally made a point of it in the Gold Standard but BK has done a fantastic job of having everyone from him to Freeman to GAs to academic advisors rowing the boat in the same direction. Some recruits have clearly taken notice of it too.

Are you sure about that? :cbanana:

Was when I linked it. Figured 247 would have updated it by then. The Mothership be dragging her feet.

Gotta solid .32 bump in APR too. Can't wait to see where they're at on the 4th. Should be a different kind of fireworks goin off courtesy of the Irish Recruiting Machine.

They were a little slow updating the team rankings page. Before I originally posted that I saw they still had ND at 3, but when I viewed ND's list of commits they were ranked 2 on that page.

So, Singer brought this guy up as an option if numbers at S need to be increased. Apparently really impressed some members of the staff during his II workout.

Regardless of how good this guy is, if the staff has to increase numbers after telling Covil and Winston not to visit, that is a horrendous look.

Yeah I can't imagine they will need to increase numbers at safety.

There is a reason why Covil and Winston were taken off the list. Notre Dame probably has a couple silent commits from players ranked higher on the safety board.

I wouldn't be surprised if Moore and Pope are currently committed.

Of our current recruiting class, who is most likely to increase their star ranking? Do we have any 5 star guys in the making? Amorion Walker is getting noticed. Maybe he gets a 4th star.

The recruiting atmosphere has gone from exhilarating to…….peculiar, confusing, puzzling in a week. At least it has for me. I know patience is needed, but the coming and goings and the cancellations are unsettling.

I probably wouldn’t go that far, but there has been a noticeable deflation of excitement, and it’s occurred in the last 48-72 hours. I think once we start seeing the fruits of the staff’s labor here soon it might ramp back up that excitement.

The problem, and this is not unique to IE or even ND, is frankly many assumed these kids were more immature then they are. It was assumed all these kids would be popping and making rash commitments because visits were open. Sure some have but many are drawing things out and not doing things with the same speed people expected

I think the lack of excitement is because the paid sites all but guaranteed us a very exciting June. It is now 6/23, and I think we've only had 3 public commitments. It has been fun, but it has still fallen way below my expectations. One insider told me that he wouldn't be surprised if we saw double digit commits in June/early July. I understand that they're probably sitting on quite a few silents, but why are they waiting so long to go public?
