Honestly, this week looks like kind of a "meh" slate of games... but with 2021 shaping up to be a year of chaos, calling back to the madness that was 2007, there is a good chance that we will see some ridiculous turns of events, some upsets, and some general college football shenanigans.
Embrace the chaos of a year where even Alabama doesn't look invincible!
THURSDAY, SEPT. 23
.
.
- Marshall might be decent, and App State is always a good game to watch.
.
.
FRIDAY, SEPT. 24
.
.
- Wake Forest is actually rolling through three weeks with a smartly-planned opening stretch. Check them out and see if you want to be in early on a surprise ACC team.
- Night cap... if you're up late on Friday, check out everyone's newest favorite Group of Five team. Bonus: Tathan Martell is working his way into UNLV's QB job, and will probably make an appearance.
.
.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 25 - EARLY
.
.
- BIG. NUDE. SATURDAY. Go Irish. Let's see if they avoid a sleepy start and get up for their biggest test of the season so far. Wiscy won't let them survive early struggles like Purdue did.
- Clark Lea and Co. host a team that people are suddenly trying to rank ahead of Bama... let's just hope all of the Vandy kids have fun.
- This is the game that put LSU on notice last year. A chance to see how Leach's air raid is fairing in the SEC.
- Texas Tech is a top-5 SP+ team according to Bill Connely... if you remove the historical data and use ONLY this season's results. Are they actually good? Or is Texas back on track?
.
.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 25 - AFTERNOON
.
.
- Texas A&M backup QB Zach Calzada is settling into the starting job, but Arkansas is suddenly a huge test for a top-10 team. Texas A&M's secondary could be the difference in slowing down Arkansas' passing attack.
- Clemson's Offense: Not great! Clemson's Defense: Great! Now, which happens first... their defense has a letdown, or their offense comes around?
- Schiano should already be credited for the Rutgers turnaround... but an upset for the Scarlet Knights here would be HUGE. Neither team has really been tested, so this might be a good one.
- I'm just gonna keep tuning in to Louisville and FSU games, because both teams have been involved in some entertaining affairs the first three weeks of the season.
- If you have the Pac12 network, this game will tell us whether Stanford is actually turning it back around under Shaw's guidance, or if the USC game was a fluke.
.
.
SATURDAY, SEPT. 25 - LATE
.
.
- Does a big-game hangover for Florida give Tennessee an opening to a big win? Or are the Gators too far ahead of the Volunteers for that to matter?
- Nebraska acquitted themselves well against Oklahoma's passing attack... now they need to switch gears and keep from getting run over by Kenneth Walker III and his Sparty OL.
- This is the "Kentucky Might be Good!" game every year, and it always seems to be an entertaining finish. Should be a good game to watch purely for entertainment.
- West Virginia put a halt to the VT love affair last week... their reward is a date with Oklahoma. This will likely be a shootout.
- Night Cap: could be USC/Oregon State (10:30PM, FS1), but instead we'll watch another week of Oregon football and see if they dispatch Arizona convincingly, like a top-3 team should.
