Honest answer? Most of them are from the south and want $$ and girls. They simply aren't buying what ND is selling. It's the same reason Wisconsin is almost never in the market for "elite" rated RBs despite their decade+ of incredible production at the position + NFL development.

And we require them to pass protect before sniffing the field. That just isn't happening with most prima donnas

Probably if Clark is gone. IDK. Depends on how they view Pyne, but I personally am not comfortable with that. I'm still hoping Book somehow returns. If Book leaves, I'd probably want a direct handoff to Buchner to be honest.

Newman is an interesting name. I'm hoping Buchner comes in and knocks everyone's socks off, but 1) not having played a senior season and 2) whatever TF is going on with his throwing motion has me colored concerned.
