Just to get ahead of it, there is a chance we don’t sign a RB tomorrow. Sounds like most still really like our chances with Estime but he might want to visit before committing or signing.

Estime wanting to wait. Staff wants him in the boat tomorrow. May not happen that way.

Some possible good news on Diggs is Armoni Goodwin was CB’d to LSU by Wiltfong. If they keep Kiner and get Goodwin, is Diggs really going to be third fiddle to those guys?

We need 2 RBs minimum. What will it take to convince RBs to come run behind an elite offensive line?

Hopefully not straying too off topic...but any of the Georgia backs considered a potential transfer? Would someone like Cook look to leave?

If we get a transfer running back it only makes sense to get a transfer with multiple years of eligibility. We don’t need a back for next year, but for 2022.

13 LOI's in before 8 AM pretty impressive. ND's staff not leaving us a lot to worry about. Just RB

I think a transfer back would be for depth, not impact. Recruit impact, transfer depth. Basically replace Smith via transfer.

I think the rest of the unsigned are west coasters + Diggs who isnt signing.

Speaking of, is this the most CA kids we have brought in recently?

Can someone explain to me how we don't have elite RBs begging to play for us? Four straight 10+ win seasons, consistently great OLs, and OC that wants to RTDB. I don't get it.

Last year we signed the #1 all purpose back in the country. This year we seemed to put all our eggs in the Shipley basket and that fell through. That coupled with lack of visits has hurt. Still, it’s a results business and if we strike out it will be our own fault. We’ll see how it all shakes out.

Yeah, obviously fair point re: Tyree. But, it does feel like we shouldn't have to work so hard to at least get 4-star guys. From a football perspective, we have all the characteristics of a program where it should be an easy sell. Missing on Shipley shouldn't screw us over for an entire cycle IMO.

I haven't followed this as well as I should but I think going all in on Shipley delayed recruiting of other top tier RBs not named Shipley. If BK called me I could have warned him against going against Clemson on this kid. But alas... here we are.

Honest answer? Most of them are from the south and want $$ and girls. They simply aren't buying what ND is selling. It's the same reason Wisconsin is almost never in the market for "elite" rated RBs despite their decade+ of incredible production at the position + NFL development.

I'm convinced somehow, someway, Avery Davis will be playing RB for ND in 2022. Even if he doesn't play with us next year, somehow he'll find his way back and to another new position.

I don't think so. He'll be the most experienced receiver we have. He's basically a lock to start next season.
