Another bye week boredom thread..

Listing out different ND players in current mocks.

Coney
1-25 (CBS/Trepasso)
1-29 (USA Today Draftwire)

Tillery
1-30 (CBS/Wilson)
1-30 (SI)
1-22 (NFL Mocks)
2-42 (USA Today Draftwire)
1-27 (WalterFootball)

Love

2-43 (USA Today Draftwire)
3-66 (WalterFootball)

Studstill
3-94 (WalterFootball)

Could not find where I saw Elliot earlier. I'd bet we see Okwara, Pride, and Kareem pop in to some of the these that go into the 2nd and 3rd rounds by end of season.

How far down do they mock? Anyone do all six rounds?

If Love is only going in the 3rd he should come back.

They get deeper closer to end of year. I'll bet that Love moves up to a solid second rounder if he keeps up the PBUs. I think he'll end up consensus 2nd, and Pride will pop into the 3rd/4th. Elliot as well.

Studstill? Really?

yup. and i even used only mocks in the last 30 days. I think that one was from Oct3.

Do people think Tranquil has enhanced his draft position this year or stayed about the same or dropped?
I guess the easy answer is stayed about the same but I think he has dropped.

i think he has stayed the same. that's pretty darn good though considering he switched positions and has a cast.

Either way, cast and all, I'm glad he stayed.

Didnt kiper put love in his first round? Out of everyone I think love should be the highest pick even over tillery and tillery is having a fantastic year.

Outside of injury, I'll be shocked if any of Love, Coney or Tillery drop out of the first round. They are all putting up big numbers and their testing will further cement their position.

Love won't improve his stock with his 40 but I bet he maintains his position and you can't argue the production he has over the past two years.

We've had one defensive player picked in the first round in 20 years (Harrison Smith, 2012) and you'll be shocked if we don't have three this year?

All three of those guys have been great for us, but maybe pump the brakes a bit? There's a lot of good football players out there, and guys from lower-profile programs always seem to climb once the tryouts and combines begin.

All 3 are totally worthy but Tillery is the only one I am confident about. They will love his size.

Tillery I'm confident in. I can see Coney and Love in the 2nd. I think Love should get more love, just not sure he will. Coney has great upside, just not sure he's a 1st lock. Trending, but not lock. I can definitely see Okwara and Kareem popping in to later rounds as we get closer to end of season. I think we only need to worry if they grade out comfortably as 2nd rounders.

Nah, I don't need to pump the brakes. Love has been in near the top of all CFB with PBUs 2 years in a row, last year he was only beaten by Josh Jackson who went 2nd rd 13th pick.

He still needs to run a sub 4.5 40. If he does, I don't see how he slides past the first. I don't believe there are many CBs who put together two years in the top 10 in PBUs.

Coney was getting 2nd rd grades last year and if he tests as well as we all expect, I think a mid-late 1st rd grade is deserving. Who is a better LB prospect than Coney? Coney is a sure tackler, sheds blocks and is showing improved coverage skills.

Tillery has the size the NFL covets, if he can keep his current production going, then there is zero doubt that he'll be off the boards in the 1st.

Finke UDFA to Patriots, catches 95 passes and 10 TDs from Brady. Because he's small and white.

It's not about how good our guys are. They're good. No doubt.
It's about the players who aren't on everybody's radar screen in October (i.e. they don't play for a high-profile program) who'll pop on NFL draft boards by April. And then it's about fit and what particular teams need and how they value certain positions like inside linebacker, and how NFL coaches will talk themselves into a bit of a project with better measurables over a proven but smaller player like Love.
Happens every year.

Agree. Can’t imagine we’ll have 3 first round picks on defense.

Walter Football can be REALLY stupid sometimes, so I always take their mocks with a giant grain of salt. For example, there is no way in hell Studstill is leaving for the NFL early and getting drafted, let alone getting drafted in the 3rd round. But sometimes, they give some pretty good insight.

For Notre Dame draft prospects in 2019, I think Love, Tillery, and Coney could all go in the first round.

Love might not have the athleticism that jumps out at you, but his football IQ is so high, he has a knack of forcing turnovers, and he's always in the receiver's back pocket even though he doesn't have elite speed. As a Pittsburgh fan, I'm tired of low IQ football players and would enjoy Love on our defense.

Tillery seems to be a top 3 DT right now for the upcoming draft. His ability to both rush the passer and being stout against the run is unique. I can see him going in the 25-32.

Coney is the interesting one of the group. Depending on a team's need, I can see him going in the late first as well. He is so physical against the run and has shown great improvement this year in pass coverage.

I think Drue has helped his draft stock this year, but I still think he's a day 3 pick. Can he be an every down NFL players? At first, probably not. I can see him being a special teams ace and play in the dime/nickel though.

All these sacks from Donald has got to be working in favour of Tillery's draft stock. The interior DLmen might start getting drafted ahead of the ends.

I may be wrong. But isn't the max a school can submit is 5?

https://operations.nfl.com/the-players/development-pipeline/college-advisory-committee/
The College Advisory Committee’s process for determining whether underclassmen are ready for the pro game changed in 2014. Under the revised NFL guidelines, a college can request evaluations for only five players, with exceptions determined on a case-by-case basis; previously, there was no limit on the number of players from one team who could be reviewed.

Latest 3 rounder from NFL.com

Love going 41st (2nd round) to the Broncos
Mack going 56th to the Pats
Tillery going 60th to the Chargers

I've seen DT and Coney pop up on others.
Dex is moving up on a lot of RB stacks. He's been in just about every top 20 (RBs) that I've seen in the last couple weeks.

3 in the 2nd round wouldn't be so bad. Looking forward to the combine. I think all of our guys will show pretty good. Hopefully they are all getting combine specific training. I'd love to see all 6 gone by round 5. Dex is going to be a steal for some team (saw a few articles saying that KC should go after him). Mack too if he goes to a team that has a decent QB and uses him the right way. The Pats would indeed be that.

Why does the floor appear to be falling on Tevon's draft stock? Anyone have any insight on this? Seemed like he was a sure-fire first round pick early on in the season....

I don't think he was ever sure fire. A few places had him late 1st round early, but others at the same time didn't have him in the first three. Realistically I think he'll end up 3rd or 4th. 2nd if he can really nail it at the combine.

I think we're probably going to see only 1, maybe 2 ILBs go in the first. He's an inch or two shorter than most of the guys ahead of him.

The combine should help him (his speed improving would help).
