4* RS SR Brandon Wimbush
3* RS JR Ian Book
4* RS SO Avery Davis
4* RS FR Phil Jurkovec

QB Board (1-2 guys)
.9809 4* Spencer Rattler - AZ - FAR - Never Visited (OKLAHOMA COMMIT)
.9711 4* Grant Gunnell - TX - FAR - Never Visited
.9659 4* Bo Nix - AL - FAR - Never Visited (AUBURN COMMIT)
.9628 4* Dylan Morris - WA - FAR - 6/24/17 (WASHINGTON COMMIT)
.9114 4* Paul Tyson - AL - FAR - 4/2/17
.9104 4* Cade McNamara - NV - FAR - 6/18/17 & 9/9/17 & 10/21/17 (ND COMMIT)

QB Interest (Regional/Visitor 4*'s)
.9333 4* Hank Bachmeier - CA - FAR - 10/15/16
.9151 4* Dwan Mathis - MI - 3h20m - 4/18/15 (MICHIGAN ST COMMIT)
.9054 4* Max Duggan - IA - 7h45m - 4/2/17

Right now, we have 5 QB's committed for the 2019 season. There is a ton of time until 9/2/19 at Louisville, KY, but ND sits in great shape with 5 QB's being on board. At this point, there would be no way Notre Dame would take a second QB and have 6 scholarship QB's, but if Avery Davis gets frustrated and leaves and Brandon Wimbush loses the job to Book and takes a Grad Transfer somewhere else you have Book, Jurkovec, and McNamara and they may want one more. I think ND QB Recruiting is done for the 2019 class and McNamara is a fantastic prospect for Notre Dame.

.9115 3* Eric Gray - TN - FAR - 9/9/17

The roster of RB's will probably be the thing that changes between now and Louisville in 2019. Hopefully, but doubtfully, CJ Holmes and/or Deon McIntosh are able to come back to Notre Dame and play. I know that they are currently on campus taking classes and hopefully are trying to correct their wrongs, but II Podcast and other reports have said they are both long shots to return to play for Notre Dame. We'll probably know more on their status by the end of the school year in May. As for the board, right now you would take 3 RB's, but hopefully that is not the case because that's an overload for one class and a surefire way to cause transfer issues. Ideally they can pull in two studs and from the looks of it that might come true. I think we lead for Chez Mellusi and Kyren Williams, and Mellusi I think will be on commit watch next time he visits hopefully in the spring. My dream is we land Mellusi and then shoot for Austin Jones (Oakland guy who has high praise for Polian & ND), Kenny McIntosh (extreme longshot but has been to ND twice), Sampson James (longshot, but enjoyed his recent visit and maybe OSU fills up at RB), Jirehl Brock (please become eligible for an offer cause ur my fave) and another big time prospect that hasn't been to campus yet.

does Dex have a 5th year option?

My guess would be we stick with 1 QB and go for 2 rb's with another prospect with an ATH designation.

.9432 4* Milton Wright - KY - 4h30m - Never Visited
.9111 4* Jashon Watkins - TN - 6h40m - 11/19/16

I did not include Bru McCoy (reported he'll be LBer at next level), Marquez Beason (don't know if he's DB or WR), Isaiah Williams (QB, DB, WR, idk), or Kendall Abdur-Rahman because I'm not positive about their positions. The board above shows a good depth chart of talent that will be at Notre Dame in 2019 and a strong board for the 2019 recruiting class. Having two graduate seniors is an excellent spot to be in because you can over-recruit the position and then figure out space with the eligible 5th years later. I also think Jafar Armstrong and Javon McKinley have incredibly important 2018 seasons coming because if they get passed up on the depth chart by those talented freshman, they could look for greener pastures. That's why I think Notre Dame takes 3-4 WR's in this class and I lean more towards 4 right now. As for the board, I think its a slower board to develop than the DL board or QB board for example, but some action should hopefully happen in the spring and summer. With WR's in the 2019 class, there are not a ton of regional recruits so it's going to be important to get guys from far away to visit unofficially or officially early in the process. Del Alexander has already done a great job of that with Joe Ngata, Jake Smith, Kam Brown, and TJ Sheffield making it to campus for JD1 and hopefully Garrett Wilson and more will make it for JD2.

I think the guys to look out for are...

Garrett Wilson - Born in Chicago, raised in Ohio, brother loves BK, coming for JD2
Joe Ngata - loved his visit, family is academics first, offered his brother
John Dunmore - had to cancel JD2 visit for SAT but plans to visit in summer
Jake Smith - Great visit for JD1, wants to return, hopefully summer, game, then sign!
Dylan Wright - Nana's a good friend of his, reached out to ND to get offer, visiting in few weeks for 7on7
TJ Sheffield - loved his visit, in his imaginary top 5
Elijah Higgins - might have best academic offer list in country (Ethan Rae?). Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, Duke, Notre Dame, Northwestern. An NDMIA fave

I don't like the WR board for ND this cycle. It's early, but I'm not feeling it...

Yea its gonna be an uphill battle. I don't think Notre Dame is the leader for any one of the guys on that board. But a lot can change in the coming months.

Some notable ND related CB's today.

Wiltfong:

Austin Jones - CA - RB = Stanford

Jeremiah Criddell - CA - CB = flipped from Oregon to Washington

Loy:

Jackson Lowe - GA - TE = Clemson

If all the CBs are right for ND at this point I'd be happy with however we finish. Dream 5 DL, Quinn, olmstead, cade, mellusi, kenyatta, Litchfield, Maguire, kyren, AND KJ. That's a really solid base.

Great offer

Both he and Buelow rate low on my chart... as offers. Would rather concentrate on:

Carroll
Olmstead
Kristofic
JJ Guedet / Joe Tippmann / Josh Plohr
2 of: Saleem Wormley / Harry Miller / Cadean Wallace / Dohnovan West / Elias Marte

10 guys returning plus Trevor Ruhland with an option for a 5th year so between 5-6 guys who replenish the ranks. 6 would give you 17 guys and maybe a guy or two transfers after not loving the Jeff Quinn reign. Would love to see at least 5 big time recruits in this class.

Things are starting to heat up with Fighting Irish football recruiting in the class of 2019 and people are taking notice.

Here’s what has been happening on the 247Sports Crystal Ball over the past few days.

Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair tossed in a Notre Dame pick for Atlanta (Ga.) Marist School three-star safety Kyle Hamilton on Feb. 20. The Irish continue to be a major player for the talented athlete. He’ll return to campus in March.

Notre Dame has been trending on the 247Sports Crystal Ball lately for Minneapolis (Minn.) Edina four-star offensive tackle Quinn Carroll. 247Sports insiders Gus Ramos (Northwestern), Alex Gleitman (Ohio State), Steve Lorenz (Michigan), Sean Fitz (Penn State), Matej Sis (Virginia Tech), Chris Smith (Vanderbilt) and Greg Powers (Midlands) tossed in pro-Irish picks over the past few days. Myself, Sinclair and Steve Wiltfong were already on Notre Dame from previous picks. He’s likely to return to South Bend this offseason and again in the fall.

Michigan insider Steve Lorenz tossed in a pick for Notre Dame regarding Naples (Fla.) high school four-star running back Cesare Mellusi on Feb. 22. This remains cut and dry. Mellusi continues to name the Irish his leader. Until he changes his tune, it’s hard not to like Notre Dame.

Northeast analyst Brian Dohn picked Notre Dame for Metuchen (N.J.) Saint Joseph four-star offensive lineman John Olmstead on Feb. 23. There may not be an insider more plugged into this recruitment than Dohn. He joins previous picks from myself and Sinclair. Following Dohn’s picks, Alex Gleitman (Ohio State) and Adam Rowe (Duke) picked Notre Dame as well.

Eleven Warriors insider Andrew Ellis (Ohio State) picked the Irish for Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis De Sales four-star defensive tackle Rodas Johnson on Feb. 25. Notre Dame remains very much involved. This pick joins previous picks from myself, Wiltfong, Gleitman and SB Nation’s Bud Elliott.

Some big picks came in on Feb. 26 from a few Texas insiders in EJ Holland and Mike Roach. The duo picked Notre Dame for Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic four-star defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah, a major priority for the Irish in the 2019 class. These picks join previous Notre Dame selections from myself, Texas A&M insider Brian Perroni and Midlands analyst Greg Powers. Osafo-Mensah will be back in South Bend for an official visit in April.

Yep. When you click on the profile, it takes you to his page where he's listed as a WR,Ret

6-4 with legit 10.5/100 wheels.

I did, I had just never seen that with anybody else before. Tons of skill players have insane high school return tape so it just seems kind of weird. Gotta love those numbers though.

At the Opening Regional last weekend they had him at 6’5, 206# with 4.31 and 4.45 forty times. Believe 4.45 is what the officially went with.
