Brian Polian was in to see Sebastian Castro recently. Castro is an interesting prospect that has visited campus last year for Va Tech and had a very productive soph season. Has IU, Iowa, Iowa St, Minny, Syracuse and Toledo offers. I'd look for him at Invasion.

How does evaluation period work? It's only the 10 assistants on the road, right? And are some on the road more? Or are some more open with reporters about who they're going to see? Like Polian is in the news everyday about seeing recruits and I think I've heard Heistand seeing Quinn Carroll and that's it. That's not saying Heistand is a bad recruiter just wanted to know how that stuff works. Thanks

A couple of follows for a kid who is going to be a household name for ND fans. Daniel Carter is a RB from St Thomas Aquinas. Ran for 400+ yds on less than 50 carries last season behind Sr.'s Mike Epstein (Illinois) and Kyshaun Bryan (Iowa) STA will also be replacing future Malik Zaire back up, Jake Allen (Florida) so he will be leaned on as the workhorse for the offense. 247 & Rivals haven't rated him yet, Scout gave him 4 stars. Everybody but ND and Bama have offered.

Isaiah Foskey was offered yesterday.

Foskey is the #1 Flex TE in the '19 class even though he goes to DLS where they had just 900 yds passing in 13 games. Bad news: Harbaugh has had his hooks in since the beginning, Stanford has an early CB and he's a "Norte" kid. The good news: If A Mack has the year most think he will and leaves early, ND would have a need and a perfect pitch to throw at Foskey. Polian has his work cut out but he has the right ammo to use.

I'm not sure that ND has gotten a kid from DLS since I've been following recruiting more closely (2014). Heck I mostly know the school from that bad movie with Jim Caviziel

I'm sure there have been numerous DLS kids play for ND but Aaron Taylor and Derek Landri are the only two I can remember without help form the Big G.

Colby Bowman is one of my fav's for '19. Stuck behind 5 Sr's at SJB last year, him and Josh Delgado will be huge breakout stars for the Braves and QB Re-al Mitchell (Iowa St commit). Had a great spring 7v7/combine season, Ran 4.6's as a soph at Nike Opening. Has 5 DI offers already. Staff just started following.

Be on the look out for this guy, LB Drake Thomas aka Ben Boulware Jr. He's from Wake Forest, NC so you know Lea and Elko are on first name basis. I'm guessing Lea was in to see him from the title of this Scout story on his profile page.

John Garcia of Scout named him the top defensive underclassman at the Opening Charlotte. Plays with RB Ricky Person who I wish ND would take a run at along with Ronnie Walker and Johnny Adams.

Measured in at 6-1, 217 at the Opening, had 120 Tkls, 7.0 TFL, 5 Sks, 2 FF, 2 FRTD's and has a 4.1 GPA.

Has one of those search and destroy films like Bo Bauer, Dax Hollifield and Cam McGrone. He's not the fastest guy... actually runs like an Oompa Loompa on the top end but it doesn't take him long to get there. You'll be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable 8 minutes of film.

Just want to make it clear to anyone else reading that is not familiar, Wake Forest NC is probably about 2 hours away from Wake Forest University. Not saying Elko doesn't have a close relationship with this kid, but UNC / NCSU / Duke are all much closer to him geographically.

Looks like ND is going to enter the Doug Nester sweepstakes. Early gut feeling is he could be a Q Nelson / R Hainsey type of OT recruit that may project best sliding inside to OG.

He's from WV and it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at IMG.

He's had his OSU offer pinned since March so there's that.
