These refs are ass, my dude.

Unless he wanted to defend Anthony, it wouldn't matter, but that guy hasn't missed calls, he's legit made some egregious ones. The ball out of bounds right in front of him that Anthony hit, the Carmody offensive foul. He's bad.

If this team is going to maximize it's potential, Laz has to take over the 4 and be an offensive threat.

Also, what was the point of having half the screen filled with Greg Anthony for half the game?

Damn it. I hate getting optimistic in a loss. We're going to be pretty good this year of Laz and just one wing develops (and I'd really like that to be Carmody).

Refs were horrific and ND shot like trash. How cool would it be to get a freshman that can score 30 points his first game? Lol.

Unless they learn how to hit open shots, its looking like a .500 year

Rex, Laz, Carmody, Mooney and Goodwin were a combined...….. 0-15 from 3.

We are single handedly destroying the white guy stereotype.

We won't be trash. I refuse to believe Laz can't shoot. That Carmody can't be a slasher/crasher. Mooney will be better than today, and I loved how Hubb tried to take it to Anthony (let's not focus on how it turned out, just that he had the moxy to try).

He’s an extremely good defender. But man he is just atrocious on the offensive end.

Carmody is essentially an upgraded version of Rex. Quicker, better finisher, and an equally bad shooter. Not that Rex is not a smart player, but Carmody is a REALLY smart player.

Loved what I saw from TJ yesterday.

He's possibly my #1 wildcard this season. I know Mooney is going to dominate (especially against lesser talent). I know Prentiss is going to be a great guard (slightly concerned about his outside shooting, but dang did yesterday help that).

But after last years "drop off" in production, I got really concerned about TJ. Looked great as a soph (playing off Farrell). Crashed and burned last year, to the point where I thought his confidence might be terminally hurt.

Last night was a really good sign, against a really good team.

I really liked our defensive rotations. Didn't like our settling for contested 3s sometimes. Felt like Rex missed 6 wide open 3s.

I think this is a significantly improved team. Loved what I saw out of Durham. Think this can definitely be a 20+ win team. Not really getting the pessimism. UNC is gonna be really good and Cole Anthony will be a top pick in the draft. Keeping it close on the road when we didn't even play our best game is promising.

Pfleuger is a good kid and has gone through some tough personal times but he is not a starting player on this team. He would be good in a bench role as a high-energy defender

Looking ok so far against Robert Morris. Less then 7 mins left in first half up 8. Only 1-8 from 3 is bad. Rex still looking terrible on offensive end

I get Brey's loyalty, I do.

But it's going to be really difficult to play our starting 5 against ACC teams. You almost can't play Rex and Durham together.

Rex is a problem. Durham is a great lane clogger so he’s fine plus he’s amazing at blocking which we lack. But he struggles on the offense too

First time since maybe the DePaul game last year that watching the team looked like a Brey team? I know it's Robert Morris, but still, progress.

That’s what I was thinking. They seemed to gel really well with one another. I think the biggest part is we will be playing like 9 deep this year which I don’t know the last time brey had that in his arsenal. Should be fun.

Shots were falling in the second half and that’s what we need to keep rolling

10 point win last night vs a pretty good Marshall team. We won because we outworked them for rebounds and loose balls. Especially Mooney who just wants it more.

But this team can't shoot. Doesn't appear to be an easy fix to that major problem. Fouls, threes, lay ups, doesn't matter; they don't go in. On nights like last night when we get 22 offensive boards we'll survive. When we play a team that won't let us out scrap them we won't.

Just listened to Brey's postgame, and good to hear Carmody is ok. At the same time, I'm somewhat glad to hear he's hurt, because if he didn't play for no reason it would have been mysifying.

I had a big old post typed, but I think it can be summed up as this - Maybe Nic Djobo loves Notre Dame. But judging purely on basketball, if I'm him watching this team and just sitting on the bench, I'm transferring now.

Toledo next Thursday will be very interesting. They can beat us.

Irish up 8 at the half. Best half from Rex by far.

They are spreading us out and abusing us.

Goodwin hasn't been good at all, and Durham is not a high major offensive post player. At all.

Can't watch anymore. Up 2. Hubb has been awful as well.

If you were doing a draft, the first two guys picked would be Presbyterian players. They'd have 3 of the top 5.

Their guard has been talking shit to Hubb all game, and he's backed it up and owned him.

Not up on MBB this year as I normally am (except for the Hall). What are ND's expectations this year?

I'm hoping a tournament team, but I'm just not sure.

It's amazing how inconsistent this team is. And not from a game to game basis, but from TV timeout to TV timeout.

Not having Mooney and Carmody hurt pretty bad (obviously), but this is still a team we should smack around.

But at least we aren't Kentucky (from a purely emotional toll standpoint, they'd whoop us I think) - talk about a roller coaster start to the season.
