voting on May 15th. Seems to be a lot of chatter each way although I personally think it'll pass as the NCAA needs to start delivering on its claims to being there to help the players.

He seems pretty fired up about Cormac Ryan. Pretty optimistic for the next 2 years. Maybe Brey is going to have a BK post 2016 turnaround.

Adding Wertz and Ryan to next years squad would be very exciting. Now they just need to get hack on campus so they can properly develop.

It will be a huge help. Especially if we can pickup a big transfer and can play right away. Could be a interesting year.

And the year after next will be really good cause you only have what Durham leaving?

I think Ryan cracks the starting line up. Anything I've read about him is just what the Irish needs, I think he'll be a better Rex Pflueger.

Next year's team could shock people....

And I still hope Brey can land Blake Wesley.

I agree on both. Brey seems very optimistic about him. There should be a very healthy and quality rotation at 2 and 3. I think over the next two years ND could have a top 5 ACC backcourt.

This is common but folks seem to forget he was a top 70 player out of HS. 247 had him at 61. For comparison, Wesley is in the 90’s. Now I don’t think that’s entirely accurate but it’s a good place to start when considering possible impact to the team.

And, I think his ball handling skills and ability to create his own shot or those for others is under appreciated.

If we get a big and let Laz play more stretch 4 instead of having to guard exclusively interior players when Durham inevitably picks up his second foul with 14 minutes to go in the first half, I'll start to get really optimistic about this team.

He's probably alluding to the severity with which some think Brey burned that bridge. I've read that this is not a bridge that can be re-built. Mother's allegiances and all.

Yes, and I was being facetious - I thought the "time to start tampering" was the give away.

On a serious note - if this transition would have happened two or three years ago, I wonder if things would have been different.

I heard that the one time exception for transfer rule will be in effect this year.

Damezi Anderson from IU entered the transfer portal yesterday.

Would love to see Brey go after him, but I think chances are slim.

We are playing Kentucky on Dec.12 this upcoming year so that should be fun

The 2012 game vs them was fun. I remember they gave us black jersey t shirts and we ended up spanking them. That Kentucky team had a bunch of NBAers and still lost to Robert Morris in the NIT. Yikes. Happy to see them return to the schedule even if it's most likely an L.

Will be a great test for us before conference play a couple weeks later. Should be interesting game. Who knows how we will play. Who knows what anything is going to be like this fall lol

Hmm.

Tin foil hat time, but this seems alot like...

"I like my team this year (and who knows with Kentucky). I REALLY like my team next year. Let's try at Lexington, and then maybe get one at MSG against Kentucky. Then retire, leaving whatever's left to play us in South Bend."

Looks like something pretty bad happened. Someone who played 4 years and coached 4 years doesn’t get a 19 word statement from the University unless something bad occurred. Nothing at all from Brey either.

I’m sure it will come out shortly.

Apparently there have been talks by the NCAA to allow transfers to immediately be eligible to play this year. It’s to help teams with covid issues if it were to arise

That would be really big for us with wertz
