Are you mad about more football? Because I'm not.

How else do you expect the Lions to ever make the post season again?

The Super Bowl should be in late Jan, early Feb at the absolute latest, and expanded playoffs do nothing but water everything down, see every example of expanding playoffs ever... and get the hell off my lawn!!!

I see your point. When you water it down too much it feels like less of an accomplishment when you get there. However.....one more weekend of football is always nice...push those post-super bowl blues one week later, and shorten the off-season by a week. I'm game.

I was against signing Cousins and last year did nothing to dissuade me from that. If he can play like has over the last 7 games consistently I think the Vikes can be dangerous.

As impressive as that stat is, on the flip side, great teams don't go down 21-0 against the 2019 Broncos.....Cousins simply doesn't scare me. Cook and that defense, however, do.

He's played well, but seven games does not a career make.

All that being said, I fully expect my Pack to get shredded in Minneapolis in a few weeks. That stadium has been nothing but doom and gloom for them.

I'd agree except that it's the NFL and really anything can happen. Cousins has a longer track record of being inconsistent than tearing it up, that's why this all hinges on IF Cousins can continue to play like he has the last 7 or so games the Vikings can be very dangerous.

Isnt that the knock on Kirk though? Not consistent?

I'd take SF winning it all too in a heartbeat in all honesty if it means the rat birds and the cheatriots get dickle...

If I could rep you I would.

Completely agree about all of this. First thing I want done is remove the 2nd WC in the MLB. Then, I’d decrease the first series in the NBA playoffs back down to 5 games.

I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. I thought he would have gotten the hook before the season started, then they get out to a fast start and were right in the thick of it in the NFC, only to lose 4 straight.

Probably going to be the next Giants coach.

Stumbled upon this article today. I would laugh if they went this route.

https://www.si.com/nfl/giants/news/ragazzo-a-plan-to-fix-the-giants-in-2020/

It really can't help McCarthy's stock that:

A) the NY fricken Jets weren't impressed with him and passed this past off season
B) a rookie head coach under the age of 40 has his former team at 9-3 and in first place in the NFC North.

Any team who took a chance on Mike would be crazy IMO.

Did a quick search and Matt Rhule's name is coming up a lot as a potential candidate. Would be interesting to see if they went with a first time NFL head coach with that young roster.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did take a flier on someone like Rivera who is experienced. Have to develop that young talent quickly. They certainly have some solid pieces.

Depending on how the rest of the year plays out I'd be fine with the Vikes moving on from Zimmer. He's got the Vikings stuck in consistent "good, not great" status.

I'd be okay with that too because Zimmer coached Vikings teams have been a major thorn in the Packers side

And at the same time has struggled against mediocre Bears teams. I also wonder how much of Zimmer's success against the Packers has been a product of McCarthy just basically mailing it in the last few years of his tenure?

That's a fair question to ask. I wanted McCarthy gone in 2016, then he miraculously won out from Mid-Nov and Dec and made the playoffs.

But let's hold off on saying Lafleur is a Viking slayer. We basically won that game in week 2 by playing a monster first quarter, and the Pack haven't won in your new stadium yet.

Rodgers in general has kind of struggled indoors throughout his career.

Ever since Belichick had to answer questions three years ago about the downfall of his dynasty, and then gave the "We're on to Cincinnati" quote, he has been ALL IN on destroying the Bengals.

Cheating to get a leg up on a team that's 1-11, smh.

Fuck the Patriots. Their dynasty has been impressive but there will be a giant * next to it after it is over.

What a game between the 49ers and Saints. WOW

I had just turned it over in time to see the Kittle's catch and run. That might be one of my favorite football plays of all time. I literally thought he was going to come out of his helmet and score the touchdown. Reminded me of some of M. Mayer's HS film.

From SBNation's Patriots site:

The Patriots Even Suck at Cheating This Year
It would appear that the 2019 Patriots can’t do anything right.

Between the aging, washed up quarterback who should have retired last year, the pasta strainer that is the offensive line, the lousy running backs, and the receivers who couldn’t even catch an STD under the Atlantic City Boardwalk, there’s just nothing to be happy about whatsoever as a Patriots fan in 2019. This sham of a team has only managed to put together 10 wins this season and will likely have to settle for wearing the eternal brand of shame that is the Number 2 overall seed in the AFC. It makes me sick.

And up until this morning, I thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse. But now, in addition to this awful, awful season, I’m heartbroken to discover that the Patriots are also unable to successfully do the one and only thing they have ever done with any real consistency - cheat. (Cont)

Raider fans came out for their last game in Oakland with video showing their achievements and famous Raiders players celebrated at halftime. Security ringed the field at the start of the fourth quarter to prevent an anticipated rush of fans celebrating as the Raiders held a 16-6 lead and had seemed dominant. Then it slipped away from Oakland, coming within a first down of running out the clock for a 16-13 win. After the Raiders missed two field goal attempts with less than two minutes left, Minshew drove Jacksonville sixty-five yards to a touchdown with seconds left for the 20-16 win. He threw two touchdown passes in the last 5:15. The Raiders time of possession advantage was 34 minutes to 26 minutes, and had - until the last drive - held the Jags to under 200 yards total offense. Fans were not pleased.

The Raiders’ era in Oakland ended fittingly, with boos and nacho cheese on the field

In his press conference, Jon Gruden said:
"It's not really the result today, it's the results of the Raiders over the years. It's the Raiders, it's the appreciation, the loyalty that these fans I think have had for the Raiders. We're going to miss them. The relationship is hopefully never going to end."

"It was sad walking in here today. It's going to be sad walking out of here for the last time and it's a lot to wrap your arms around, but we love our fans, we love the city of Oakland. We thank them and we'll certainly miss them."
