Snoop put hammer to nail.

Everybody rep him now.

13-1

run the table in the season....win 1st playoff game....lose championship game

I'm having trouble recalling that 13th win or did you just put hammer to thumb?

Wouldn't the savants be Bugzly21, GaryMcLain'sSkiLodge, ndcoltsfan2010, NDohio, nvirish who forecast 12-1?

I started off predicting 10-2, but jumped on the 12-0 train post game 4 (QB change).

2019 will be interesting. I think worst case is 9-3, but could easily be 11-1. I think we get smoked by UGA early if we don't reload quick on D and find a true #1 RB.

Regardless, we drop the UGA game. scUM is a toss up. We have a week off to prep, they have @PSU prior. They'll be much better passing, but have to find answers like us on D and RB. Who knows what @Stanford at the end of the season will be like.

Lmao who the hell is "Some Irish Bloke"? Negged me for this post.

I love BW for everything he's done, but SIB wasn't wrong. Maybe wrong about the 9-4, but BK used the hook after our two easiest games of the year.

Ha, I forgot about this little scrum. In both Wiz's and my defense, I was still very green to the board and didn't fully understand the proper use of the "neg." We settled that quickly thereafter.

I was one off at 11-2, so I was happy to be wrong. I agree on your 9 win floor, YJ. Three tough road games give me pause on the 11. I think 10 wins is most realistic if the Irish protect their house.

I thought 9-3 with Brandon's limitations, plus a win in a bowl game to make it 10-3...

I would have been right had they not made the QB change!

I guess most of us were right that Brandon's lack of accuracy throwing the ball would be a huge limitation... Ian gets a chance, completes greater than 65% of his passes, and the offense does what it needs to do, even with some personnel issues, and the team's ceiling suddenly got much higher.

Please, God, don't let BK f*ck up yet another "Returning Starter at QB" situation.

So what if an unknown Book had started the season (for whatever reason, BW was out). What would your prediction have been going into the year? Would it have been better than 9-3?

On the "returning starter at QB" comment, that's my biggest concern lol. I hope BK is realistic and works withing the talents of the total offensive squad. I do think Book has the potential to improve a bunch on the long ball if the OL improves, and we insert some of the speedier WRs. If the line is still unpredictable, I hope they don't try to force too much.

Hell, Wiz deserves a neg rep each day :)

To me, if our D can replace the middle (Mike/Buck/NT/DT) we'll be just fine, and I think while we may have some early pains, we have the talent. I do think moving Bilal inside is the right thing to do, and I think our Mike will be fine. Rover to me is a wildcard. Could turn out to be great, or shit. DT/NT will be interesting and really my biggest concern on D.

If the OL takes a big step forward, I think this years offense can be much better, even with the questions at RB.

I'm personally more worried about the situation at LB than I am interior DL. I think we have some quality bodies up front b/t MTA, Jayson A., Kurt Hinish and (Hopefully) Jacob Lacey comes ready to contribute. IMO, the sum of that rotation (if they can find the right snap mix), is closer to equaling the talents left behind by Tillery and Bonner than replacing Drue and Coney.

I agree with you that moving Bilal to the middle is the right move. Need that experience; I just haven't seen anything in his career to indicate he can fill those massive shoes left behind by DT and TC. If he doesn't pan out, I would be excited to see what JGH can do. I love his athleticism, just hope he can match up physically enough to hold is own. And here's to hoping that Bo Bauer is the real deal.

Definitely excited to see Shayne Simon and JOK get more reps at Rover when/if Bilal moves/stays inside.

I'm probably more optimistic on Bauer than most. I'm more concerned with Rover than Mike. I am excited to see Simon.

The middle of the DL concerns me because even with JT last year, we weren't great against the run. Advanced stats like Line Yards, Standard Downs, Power Success, and Stuff Rate were all pretty crappy (all ranking 70th or more).

And while JT had a good number of sacks early, and our DEs got a lot of hurries, we still only ranked in the 30s on sacks. And JT was around 40% (starting DL) of our sack production even with him fading (sack wise) later in the year. And considering we didn't play a lot of good QBs makes it worse.

It's very possible the sum of the two new DLs will end up being greater than JT+Bonner. Our DEs need to translate the hurries into sacks this year, and that could help vs the pass. I'm most worried that we get gashed early in the running game. UGA RBs haunt my dreams when thinking about 2019.
