Did anyone see Joe Thomas' press conference?? MAYBE it was the camera angle or whatever but dude looks like he has lost a ton of weight already... it's already hard to believe that man played O Line in the NFL... lol

Heard this morning that Mayfield is producing his own web based reality show that will chronicle his days leading up to the draft. After hearing several teams at the combine were not impressed with his interviews, I'm thinking this is a damage control thing his agent is behind.

The problem though is this time of year there is always stuff about wonderlic scores, bad interviews etc that are leaked on purpose to help "throw off" other teams....it's a crap shoot

I wouldn't worry about some reality show to improve an image if I were Mayfield. I'd avoid stuff like that like the plague if it were me... just my two cents.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I remember reading an article or two about him considering retirement and then saying he's lost a lot of weight already n

Could be some teams are trying to throw the hounds off the scent. They didn't report which teams, but if Mayfield is doing this as reported there must be some concern coming from his camp?

He looked downright skinny...

I read that somewhere as well. That tells me he knew he was retiring a long time ago.

I remember after Jeff Saturday retired, the first time I saw a pic of him, I was shocked to see how skinny he was.

he's 30 lbs down with like 30 more to go apparently. they had been saying on his podcast for months that he was no longer carrying NFL O-Lineman weight which made me always suspect he was never coming back. He said the other day that the 2017 season was a nightmare for him dealing with inflammation and pain on a daily basis and he rarely practiced all season

Daniel Jeremiah is reporting that Cleveland is down to Darnold or Mayfield at 1.

He cut way down every offseason I don't think this was anything abnormal for him.

He said even though he had a feeling he was done he was still hoping his knee would improve and it just never did. That makes me think he wasn't losing the weight thinking he was already done.

From what I have read he did that every offseason then bulked up as he got closer to the next season. Probably not to this extent though? Dude had to work to be at a heavy enough weight to play tackle in the NFL. It was one of the concerns about home coming out of college.

I really need to stay off Browns forums for a while... the amount of ‘Barkley at one’ over the top madness is a bit much... trying to convince them that backs aren’t that valuable and Pitt does about as well without Bell as they do with him, or that they’ll get their choice of RB not named Barkley in the second or on and on is like trying to convince someone to change their political leanings...

I think it's going to be Sam D. at one and Chubb or Barkley at four...probably Chubb.

With the Steelers signing Burnett and Bostic, they've lessened the urgency to draft a safety or ILB in the 1st round. I think ILB is still very much on the table (although Colbert doesn't think this a great draft for LBs) but I also wouldn't be surprised if they draft Rudolph. They seem really interested in him having apparently met with him a few times and having both Colbert and Tomlin at his pro day.

I actually hope the Steelers trade down into the early 2nd and grab an extra pick but that won't happen. I'm guessing ILB with Rudolph as the darks horse for the pick.

Look at how quickly Jeff Saturday dropped weight, once he retired. Olin Kreutz did, too. I think these guys are forced to maintain mass, while they're playing.

That's crazy. Binge eating to get back up to weight? I would think it would be easier to maintain.

Mayfield isn't an AFCN quarterback. That would be a very typical Browns pick.

Justin Reid, Jaire Alexander, Leighton Vander Esch, Dallas Goedert, Malik Jefferson, Ronnie Harrison, and Mike Gesicki are viable options at pick 28. I don't think the FA signings will change the draft strategy.

Dallaa Goedert is the man. But not sure he fits the Steeler mentality

If this is Jonathan Bostic, then you can put ILB back on the board for the Steelers 1st round pick.

Some are like that, I never played professionally obviously but all through high school I was constantly struggling to put weight on for sports...

ACamp, here's my take on the Brownies.

You're right that the fans are dumb to want Barkley 1st overall. I used to think he was worth that pick, but RB is a revolving door in the league anymore. You can win a SB with mediocre RBs, but you don't often see a team win a SB with Trent Dilfer at QB. Anyhoo, they should take the QB they want with #1 knowing full well that Barkley might be available at #4 after the Giants either sell #2 or pick Rosen and the Jets take whatever QB is left. But, at worst, Chubb and Barkley have to be graded out as comparable prospects. So if Barkley is gone by #4, draft Chubb and build the defense (like the way Jacksonville did all the way to the AFC Championship game).

Bottom line, get your QB and get the best player available at 4.

Yes to all of this.

Yep I've been saying since the Jets trade... choice of QB, choice of top defender... I wouldn't go Barkley at four though, I just don't think the gap between him and the group of second round backs justifies it... but we shall see.

I don't either. Honestly, they could probably draft Darnold #1, Chubb #4, and trade back into the first round to grab Guice at ~#22 and give up very little.

All day... hell he may be there in the second... if they trade up I'd love to do so for one of the tackles....

He might. And the price to jump back into the first round for a RB isn't worth it IMO. Ronald Jones, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, or Guice will be available with their 2nd pick in the 2nd round. Or Kerryon Johnson will be there if they want a banged up RB to draft.

Could end up with Penny too....
