From a statistical standpoint, Baker Mayfield is the best QB in this draft hands down. If he was two inches taller, he'd be the first overall pick hands down.

I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. The crotch grabbing and flag planting is sorta meh. His height is a big deal for me at that position in this league.

Penny is the best back in the draft... totally serious, I’m not sold on Barkley being an every down back, at all.

Isn't the first pick usually ironed out by draft time? I don't pay super close attention to contract stuff on large scale with the NFL, but I seem to recall most teams know who they want ahead of time because they like to start working on contract before the draft has even started.

I see Barkley as a home run hitter who just outran non NFL players but really struggled (and for a first round talent I mean REALLY struggled) running between the tackle with any kind of contact.... he will have to totally reinvent his game to be a success imo...

I do like the others but love Penny

Usually it’s been known for days at this point...

I do think in the right system Barkley could be legit in the passing game...

not a big a deal anymore with the CBA as it is. The contracts are pretty set already per slot. It used to be before the team with number one would begin negotiating with say the top 2 QB's or whatever and then pick whichever one was gonna accept the team friendliest deal

He was a boom-or-bust runner at PSU. Look no further than how we was consistently stuffed by the best teams he faced. He got loose once against OSU I think, and that was on a kickoff return.

But, the same can be said of any running back. A generational talent is going to have his share of struggles if his OL isn't great. Barkley had success despite his OL being slightly below average. His measurables and the big plays he made despite a lack of help from his OL is why the hype is there, and I think it's kind of warranted... but not to the level of making him a top-2 pick, which apparently the Giants might do.

Penny is great, but he's got a lot of mileage on his tires (not much less than Barkley though).

I think the best all-around pick if you're looking for a RB is Guice. He was behind Fournette and also banged up off-and-on, so he's got low mileage on his body, and he's just as good as anyone else when he's healthy. He's got homerun speed AND he runs violent.

I’ve long said I love the idea of choice QB at 1 and choice player otherwise at four... if all they get after all of this is Baker Mayfield and a bunch of future second or late first rounders I’ll be so let down... might have to cancel Sunday Ticket this year...

I think there are rare exceptions and the Colts over the last 20 years is one of them. So I can see a colts fan thinking that way... but look at championship teams, very, very few had weak defenses and great QBs... or some scrub o line but a HoFer behind center that just carried them... it has happened... but it's very, very rare.

I think you missed my point. Remember I said a good QB can make a good team great. I should have added a good QB can make a great team SB champs.

I can't believe we are just hours away from the draft and no one knows wtf the Browns are going to do. It's almost surreal how well they kept it under wraps. When was the last time the 1st overall was a mystery right up until the pick?? I honestly can't recall it happening....

Manning / Leaf comes to mind.

You've been living in this thread for the last month like a homeless guy who's claimed his spot on a street corner hoping some rich guy drops a hundy in your cup. The closer to the draft the more your hopes and dreams fade as thoughts of drafts past come haunting your mind and you realize that rich guy crossed the street to avoid you. lol

To be fair, that's a great way to get Browns management to listen to you.

A nightmare scenario would be taking Allen or Mayfield, trading away four for nothing spectacular and then Chubb going to Denver... I have reasons....

At some freaking point the Browns know they will have to actually make all these picks,... right??

Since 04 my Browns have traded a top ten pick seven times, only once did the trade work out for them... the majority of the other moves didn't just fail to work out, they were disasters.

Clay Travis making a compelling argument right now that the Browns should use both top picks on QB's lol.

1. QB is a crap shoot, and you usually only get one pick per year on a QB to try and get it right. Why not take two when you have the chance, and let them compete. Trade the other later after one has established themselves as a better answer.

2. Teams are spending huge amounts of future/current draft capital to draft QB's... sometimes giving up multiple first rounders to get ONE QB. So why not use those multiple first rounders and get MULTIPLE QB's when given the chance?

It seems counter-intuitive in terms of value and taking care of the rest of the roster, but the Browns have enough draft capital built up that it wouldn't totally wreck their roster building to say "fuck it" and take two top QB's.

It worked when Washington took RGIII and Kirk Cousins in the same draft... except the Browns have a greater chance of hitting in that same situation based on having picks 1 and 4.

Or since all 4 of the top QBs have their flaws, they could trade back at #4 and grab Mason Rudolph with the Bills #22 pick and a CB/OT/DT at #12.

Same concept, but less risk.

I completely agree. Mayfield is the last QB I want in this draft. They have the opportunity for the top or 2nd position player other than QB and they are going to trade down for a shit pick once again? Fuck John Dorsey if that happens. I am sick of this shit.
