Intriguing updates from ISD on this kid. Per the Power Hour released today and a look at who USC is leading for LBs, Bo might be an actual option. Couple that with offering his kid brother, and this could get interesting.
I guess the real question is, does he fight Bauer for Bo?
I'm still a little skeptical that it might just be posturing to get his brother an offer from USC. With that said, he's given very positive reviews of ND to BGI and 247, as well. He's been in communication with the staff for quite awhile, so this isn't out of the nowhere. Playing with his brother is very important, and they were impressed with ND offering both, at essentially the same time. Sounds like it will be more interesting to follow than I initially thought. We'll see.
Edit: He'd be a really versatile player for Elko. Drop end seems like a perfect fit, but I think he could also be moved around depending on who else we land or is on the roster at that time.
I don't know their depth chart situation, but Southern Cal does have verbals from two other LBs, and is leading for a third. It very well could be posturing to get little bro an offer, but I'm not sure if he has that much leverage right now. I bet Crus has better info about everything that's going on.
For your edit: Jamie at ISD mentioned that he has edge rusher potential the other day. The kid is good and versatile, which would be awesome for Elko.
I've been persuaded to believe this is something very real. As you guys have mentioned, as well as someone earlier, SC currently has: (forgive any sp errors)
IE Gaoteote ILB - Committed
Raymond Scott OLB - Committed
Merlin Robertson ILB - Worst kept secret in silent commit history
Solomon Tuliapupupupupu ILB/OLB - Same as Robertson
At WDE they most likely have Cameron Latu coming in
Lastly you have to watch Devon Williams who is sorta a Chase Claypool type that SC could use as a big SS or OLB as he fills out.
Lastly, SC will take any JUCO player they want and have a history of doing so in December.
How does Calvert feel about that? He was first to commit but yet they continue to stack em deep. I'm starting to really like the psychology of this deal.
