Two Defensive positions battles that will be interesting:

1. S. Alohi Gilman will probably have one of those 2 spots locked down. Will he start opposite Jalen Elliott, Nick Coleman, Houston Griffith, or someone else?

2. Rover. Will Bilal hold on to his perceived lead after spring ball? Will JOK or Isaiah Robertson impress enough with their coverage skills and athleticism to overtake him?

Can't wait for camp to start.

I'm really interested to see how Bilal does. I'm not sure he's been a disappointment, but the hype he had coming in led me to think he would have more playing time under his belt by now.

I am absolutely giddy for the first "Phil Jurkovec is gonna start" rumor.

Also curious to see how the RB depth chart shakes out in Dexter's four-game absence.

1. TJ Jr.
2. Jahmir Smith?
3. Jafar Armstrong?
4. Avery Davis?
5. C'bo?

Or is it
1. TJ Jr.
2a. Jahmir to move the chains
2b. Jafar to attack the edge
2c. Davis to open up playcalling and formational options

More or less, this would be my guess. I don't think we're going to have a clear cut depth chart as much as we'll have ways to get folks involved and limit the amount of touches a single back gets. That is unless a guy like Jahmir or Jafar have a really good fall camp.

I just have a good feeling about Jafar. Maybe it's the ghost of CJ Prosise and his move from WR to RB, but just a gut feeling.

TJ needs to stay healthy though, that much is for sure. With Dex out in September, we are going to need to rely on his experience.

I think Armstrong could give us a true dual threat RB that we haven't really had since Prosise/Riddick. Really excited to see what he can do.

CJ did it well, Brent not so much. I am hoping Jafar takes notes from CJ

Idk, some of those notes from Brent could be pretty interesting, if you catch my drift.

I agree, CJ was a lot of fun to watch. He ran hard, caught the ball well, and was sneaky fast.

I’m excited to see how our d-line looks. It’s one of the deepest we’ve had in many years.

Yeah, I'm excited to see Khalid Kareem in a bigger role, and really hoping that Daelin Hayes steps it up another notch. This should be our best DL unit since KLM/Nix/Tuitt

Im more interested in our second dline rotation. For years that is where we always suffered. There was always a drop off from first team to second team.

MTA, Julian Okwara, Hinish, and Ade O are the second team. I'm pretty confident that all of them can get it done for what will be asked of them. Some more than others but I think we'll see continued improvement from all. I think MTA and Julian will play like they should be first team players. So that depth will be really clutch. I guess now it's just wait and see.

I'd really like to see Okwara, Hayes, Tillery, MTA, and Kareem on the field at the same time in certain packages. I think those are the 5 best DL.

This has to be the best DL depth we have had going all the way back to probably pre-Weis.

Edit: 2012 maybe but we had a big dropoff after Day and Schwenke

CJ ran a 4.48 at 220 lbs, that's no longer in the realm of "sneaky-fast".

Less than two hours away from the fall presser, which means we're that much closer to ending our exile.
