Goes to a school in Las Vegas not named Bishop Gorman...

wut.

I went to Centennial in Vegas, and I am surprised to see a Centennial player get an ND offer. More of a Basketball, soccer and baseball school.

Damuzhea "Bubba" Bolden is a big time S at Bishop Gorman that is starting to garner some significant attention in the recruiting world. He's been hearing from ND recently and it sounds like an offer could be on its way soon enough. He says that he's close with Nico and Alize. Also, Alize's father and Bolden's have known each other for quite awhile. So, there seems to be a strong connection. 4 star, Top 250 player on rivals.

Bump here as Beal committed. That makes 5 2017 commits that were at Irish Invasion. Looking back I'd say that was insanely productive. Not to mention they are some really good players.

Couldn't ask for a better start in the 2017 class. We also have a couple guys pretty much in the damn bag as well who are great players

Still bummed about Hunter Johnson. He'd look so good with the group of other 2017 commits.

Offered DJ Matthews WR out of Jacksonville Florida. Give this tape a look, he's fun to watch.

D.J. Matthews - Hudl

He's also good friends with Kevin Stepherson and we are in his initial top 4. Is looking to visit before season is over.

Really like this kid's film. He is a terror in the open field. Quick as a cat.

I wouldn't turn him away but now that I've started to look more at DE's for 2017, he's not nearly as high on the list. Especially with getting Beal.

Did Cage ever make it on campus for the earlier games? I remember seeing him listed as an unofficial visitor for other games, but don't remember ever hearing any post-visit updates.

I'm telling you. Y'all (in this "eh" on Malone party) are nuts. The staff has shown a strong desire to land the kid. He's catching TD passes and covering rated WRs as a defensive lineman. The kid is impressive.

I understand being hyped for other prospects (Epenesa, Kaindoh, Beal), but I still think Corey would be big. (I really think he could grow into something special at the 3-tech or as a rush end.)

Yea, he's made quite a few games. There just really isn't much to update. He's said multiple times that he's solid to OSU and this is more about watching his brother play. There might end up being more to it but not really to report on as neither side seems to be saying anything to the public.

Makes sense why we're on him then since our DL are in coverage half of the time.

I love the enthusiasm and glad you have it for, what seems to be, such a good kid. Like I said, I'd take him but he's definitely not as high for me as he once was before I went through and looked at other DE's as well as DT's. He has the length of a LB (I don't believe he's 6'3) and the body of a DT, IMO. Yea, I think he could grow into a 3T and one with plus athleticism but I think when its all said and done there will be guys at that position as well that we'd rather have. Simply put he's quite the tweener right now.

If he was committed right now, this is how I'd view it.

Beal
Kareem
Okwara
Malone-Hatcher
Ade

His teammate 2016 DB/WR Jordan Brewer is also visiting. Could be a preferred walk-on candidate to assist getting Corey in the fold perhaps?

Speaking of Okwara, is he capable of seeing the field next year as a situational pass rusher or will he be more of a developmental prospect a la Ade?

Some really good kids you put in front of him. (Really love Okwara's upside if he adds weight. The other two can go without saying.)

It's pretty damn nice problem that we have there. Thank ya, Jesus.

Who are the guys you'd rather have though? Epenesa and Kaindoh sure sound fantastic, but I'd bet our chances of not landing either are better than landing even one of them.

Far too slim right now. Would have to fill out significantly before making it to campus...which I guess could happen, but I wouldn't say is likely.

1. Thats part of my point. He'll be coming in behind some good players and coming in with some as well. So, I don't feel the need to get too excited about a prospect that I'm not in love with at this time.

2. I suppose I could've worded my previous post differently as its less about specific names as it is the whole picture. The way this cycle looks like it will finish, next cycle will have more an emphasis on DT's and LB's. So, with having 1 elite guy already on board at DE, I'd wait to see how we fair with those other elite guys first.

3. Not going to list all but some players on the DL that I like. The two you mentioned above. Luiji Vilain, Haskell Garrett, Chase Young, Darnell Ewell, Cam Spence, and Greg Rogers just to name a handful.

4. Keep in mind some of this is subject to change as 16' class fills out and we learn more about the 17' guys.

I agree. These kind of athletes are hard to get by. You take as many of these guys as you can IMO
