How is Mooney such a bad free throw shooter...

It’s like it doesn’t have the ball balanced before he releases it.

The heart this team has to finish games off and not give up is amazing. I feel bad I keep getting down on them but I just get frustrated

Marty finishes it off, great fight back over the last 7 minutes. 17-2 run to end the game.

Easy cover .

Amazing how things go when a team misses their last 7 3’s. They were 9/20. Finished 9/27.

Crazy good may be a little optimistic lol, but I like your optimism. Playoffs are now. We need to go at minimum 4-0 starting with Pitt. Any update on Bonzie?

For being 17-12 I’d say those numbers a pretty good.
No update on bonzie. Going to run him in practice this week and they will determine if he’s ready to go. As of now he’s game time decision but he will be in starting lineup that is guaranteed

They aren’t going 4-0 unless Virginia sits their starting line up. Pitt should be a breeze though.

sub .500 in league play is pretty hard to overcome. unless you see them winning the tourney...

😞 I don’t ..... guess I was just hoping the committee gives us a HUGE amount of respect with Bonzie back

Yeah the same committee that not only placed 2015 ACC Tournament Champion ND as a 3 seed, but placed them with the #1 overall and undefeated Kentucky team. I will literally never forgive the committee for that henious act of ignorance.

They will if they can pull off a win vs VA. Blessing and a curse. It's suprer rare a .500 P5 team gets in. Not sure I've ever seen it. Tough even when you've missed a star. Missing a star, then coming back and beating the number one team on their home floor is definitely a story folks can get behind assuming they look good in the tourney. Lose to VA, and it's tourney champs or nothing. Plenty of stories where losing record conf champs get in. Just not sure who's the worst non-conf champ to get in.

Well your wrong cause it’s happened 36 times and most notably last year when Kansas state got an at large bid with a conference record of 8-10. Also Vanderbilt made it last year with 15 losses. So it is still very possible that we can make the tournament. 13 teams have made the tourney with 14 loses or less.
Michigan state also made it last year with 14 loses and didn’t miles bridges hurt for like half the year or something like that.
The committee is going to look very hard on how we play WITH bonzie on the court.
There’s still a chance guys. Stay positive

happy to be wrong then. like i said, rare. i remember now (KSU). My buddy is a grad and was stoked after sweating. IIR they went deep into the B12 tourney. do you have the list of 36 at large sub 500 teams. not doubting you, just curious.

I think our only chances of making the tourney are:

1) Beat UVA, then win 1 ACC Tourney game
2) lose to UVA but go on a run to ACC final

I agree with this assessment. I think we need to get to 20/21 wins either way you look at it

The only joke here is you. You are the basketball version of NDSean.

What?

Are you overreacting to your overreacting?

You called a severely depleted, exhausted team, filled with hard working kids, a "colossal disappointment".

Great fan, great person.

We will need 4 or 5 games to win the ACC Tourney - beat UVA and we have a single bye with 4 to win it all, lose and we are most likely playing first day for a five game slog. I still think we are bubble worthy with 20 wins and in with 21. Either way, we need to make the quarter finals to be on the bubble and semi-final showing should be dancing.

Given that framework - I feel pretty good about making the Big Dance.

We aren't hitting the 8/9 seed without beating UVA regular season-
- Lose to UVA in tourney - finish 20-13 with road win over #1 = IN
- Beat UVA twice in less than a week, lose in Semis for 21-13 = no brainer IN

Lose to UVA and we get an extra game -
- Two wins and lose to Duke or UNC in Semis to finish 20-14 = Bubble.
- Beat Duke or UNC to finish 21-14 = IN.

Huge upside if we beat UVA - so much that it may excuse a round one loss in ACC tourney and earn us bubble time with only 19 wins, IMO. Positive ACC Tourney momentum is very important for these guys and I think they will bring some thunder.

We are in Lunardi’s “Next Four Out” in today’s bracketology. So we are within shouting distance at least.
