Man I fully intend to be at the Texas game but no idea if I will get tickets or not. Driving up from STL for 5th year anniversary with the lady. If anyone wants to sell some for a fair price, let me know.

As many know, ND has gone to season ticket holders requesting donations to drives to retain their season tickets - as well as increasing the total costs for those tickets as wizard details.

Worse is Texas A&M's approach to fans holding season tickets. Their "12th Man Foundation" oversees "reseating" following a $485 million stadium renovation.
"To help pay for the renovations, seat holders are expected to foot over half the bill through seat licenses. That triggered a massive reseating that has loyal fans suing to stay where they are. In a petition filed in the Florida case, attorneys claimed that as of July 2013 the foundation was impacting about 494 endowments, or about 1,760 of the 102,512 seats in the new Kyle Field.
Brunner, who attended Texas A&M in the 1980s and became the first student endowed donor, initially purchased seats on the second deck near the 15-yard line for at least $30,000. But under the new seating plan, she would have had to pay an additional $40,000 over the next 15 years to hold on to the seats, the lawsuit states.
" Ouch!

She and others sued with a class action lawsuit, which has been dismissed.

Subsidized Saturdays: The Tax-Free World Of College Football - Forbes

Good read. Looks like the 80% deductibility is proposed for elimination by Obama. Wouldn't take long for it to be reclassified and dodged IMO. Businesses are still going to be big buyers of tickets, just like pro games.
It doesn't seem much different than ND having minimum donation requirements for the alumni lottery, with preference given to members of named societies. The donation is absolutely a charitable contribution and should be fully deductible.

Giving levels and lifetime stats resulting in higher probability of winning a lottery is very different but maybe they should worry about a slippery slope.

For one, who you pay is important - Athletic Department "Foundation" - specific 501(c)3 charity benefiting athletics is one major difference.
2) Seat fee for season tickets, much more direct pay for play going on than a lottery.
3) Public versus Private - ND should always have more latitude as a private institution versus public ones. However you could also say they have more to lose if non-profit status is compromised.

A group of four of us are planning a Cubs Friday, ND Saturday, and while I've been once before, for my friends, it's the first time going. Last time I bought my tickets off Stub hub, but I noticed on July 23rd they're going to put tickets on sale.

Does anybody know if these are only single tickets? I'm also going to be in South Bend on July 23rd. Can tickets be bought directly from campus? Any advice on the best way to get 4 seats.

Single game tickets go on sale July 23, so that's perfect timing. You shouldn't have any difficulty getting four together for UMass, Navy, or Wake.

pretty much every single game you can scalp tix.
I know you young guns like to use the internet to get tix ahead of time and sometimes I do too if taking famly but my point is that anyone can go and get into any ND game anywhere we play if they want to bad enough.
went to MANY huge ND games over the years (and recently) with no tickets and EVERY TIME was able to get in. and have gotten face price about 3/4 of the time to boot.

its all about the "want to"...

You were in Kzoo and didn't pick me up to join. I knew I didn't like you for a reason.

I got skunked at the ND/Duke ACC B-ball tourney last year, first time every I have not seen a single ticket for sale outside an event.

ALWAYS take a seating chart if you are scalping, you can guarantee they will overstate the location of the tickets.

I will note my cousin bought fake tickets to Nebraska at ND a long time ago and had to hurry to find more after getting turned away at the gate. Stubhub guarantees your tickets so you will at least be reimbursed.

Also, if you want decent seats, not just anywhere in the stadium, buying before is sooooo much easier to shop. You also get to focus on pre-game activities instead of tracking down scalpers. If nothing else, shopping prior will educate you on what is and isn't a good deal. For the lesser games, there are tickets all over the place and you probably can buy below face value in many cases.

When the tickets go on sale on the 23rd, can you only buy them online or can you buy them on campus? If you can buy them on campus, where would you do this - the bookstore? Not sure if anybody knows but would these be the same caliber of ticket? I'm kind of hoping that the ones sold on campus would be a higher echelon.

Also, does anybody know how much it costs to rent a spot to tailgate on game day? If you have an RV can you stay over until the Sunday or do they boot you? I don't want to get into a rock paper scissors to see who has to drive home.

It's online only on the 23rd. I don't even think the ticket office itself will be open when tickets go on sale at 6 PM eastern. As for the locations of the seats, generally what shows online will be what's available at the box office. I say generally because I've had different experiences with other sports on the day of the game (basketball and hockey, specifically), but I don't know if that will be true for football. The better seats are usually part of season ticket, higher level donor groups, corporate "partners" (as Jack refers to them) and local clubs--I doubt those would be made available to the general public this far in advance.

UVA bus trip offered by our club sounds good except for the $90 ticket that is probably upper endzone. Anyone have experience with that place? Seems like a $50 decent ticket should be available on game day if I bus it up.

Is it true UND.com isn't selling tickets to the Texas game? I was hoping to have a chance at face value tickets tomorrow!

There aren't any available. They had scattered singles for that game as well as USC in the Alumni presale on Wednesday. They sold out pretty quickly, though.

Ridiculous - where do they get their numbers and why isn't ND vs BC on the list? Anyone paying $245 to see ND whoop UMass needs their head examined.

I believe they are taking the median stubhub price. Not actual selling prices. I agree that there is no chance that people are paying $245 for ND - UMASS.
