Love the glowing reports on Tillery. We could have us a beast over the next four years.

I think the article yesterday said Tillery was playing the NT position. If they can sub Tillery and Cage in there behind Jones to keep him fresh then I think the position could be really solid this year. Hayes, who is the backup for Day, has also got praise for his play so the depth at DT is looking pretty good. Now lets just hope the ends can generate better pass rush this year.

I liked the discussion about Rochelle in Gilmore article, too. Looks like he is showing signs that he'll be an effective pass rusher. Also, Trumbetti appears to be showing out as well. This could be a solid D line. If the other LBs can begin to close the talent gap a little with Jaylon, the corners are as good as we think they can be and the reports about the safeties "getting it" are true, this may be a defense that can make us contenders this year. The Koolaid is going to stain my upper lip if these reports remain this positive.

The real questions may be on offense this year, particularly at QB and how successful Malik can be across a whole season and/or if Golson can stop being so generous to opponents with his turnovers.

Tillery with first team D. I remember people questioning the move when rumors came up before NSD. Coaches seem to know what they're doing.

Two excellent NTs will make the DE and LBs look good. Imagine if we end up with four NFL level DTs rotating in there? Day, Jones, Tillery, Cage? We know Day is legit, Jones just needs some consistency but definitely has flashed more than enough ability, Cage impressed me in his time as a frosh - could easily be NFL quality play this year, and now Tillery sounds like he may be best of the bunch?

Koolaid laden post but it is spring ball.

I'm concerned about Grace's concussion-I did not like the way BK disengaged from that question, especially after he continued to try and minimize any injuries.

I hope I'm wrong.

I thought the same thing. Particularly by today's standards, you don't want to hear a coach classify injuries as "nothing serious" and say one is a concussion. Now, maybe it's not a fully diagnosed concussion, but something they're being extra careful over. Only coach and the trainers could tell us that.

It could be a misuse of words too. People seeing Grace out could think, "Here it is, the kid's leg is hurting, he tweaked it, etc." Instead he said "nothing serious" and I think he was implying it wasn't a setback.

That's how I took it too.

That makes me sad for poor Heuerman. Just a complete non-factor, it sounds like.

I always expected him to take hold of the H-Back role with his frame, but Luatua has a natural edge over him there as well. Sucks he hasn't seen the field much, but I attribute it to a wealth of talent at his position.

Since he has been injured his entire time at ND, i am wondering if he may be put onto medical scholly

Was he hurt all of last year? I hadn't realized that, but I remember being surprised at how light he still was.

he had if i remember correctly reinjured his sports hernia

Former 4-star recruit and current Notre Dame Tight End Mike Heuerman will miss the majority of fall camp. Heuerman underwent surgery to repair a hernia.

wasn't even listed on the und.com game participation roster...even those who didn't play were at least listed just indicated they didn't record any snaps...he wasn't listed at all
