With the 26th pick of the 2015 NFL draft the Baltimore Ravens select PJ Williams CB Florida State.

Need another corner and WR reaching for another WR with Williams sitting there. Need a good DB across form Webb.

Breshad Perriman WR Central Florida was the first choice here

Interesting pick here for the Cowboys who have needs at DL, CB, and RB. With Todd Gurley still on the board do they look there?

I'm on it! Couldn't believe several gems fell to the 27th spot, so had to do some research to make a choice.

With the 27th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Cowboys Select DE Randy Gregory.

The 6'5", 235 lb. pass rusher from Nebraska shows rare acceleration off the outside and is easily the best pass rusher left on the board. Shows an explosive first step, moves well laterally, shows good instincts for the position, has smooth change of direction, active feet, and good hands. In short, not much coaching needed here.

With the acquisition of Greg Hardy, the Cowboys have two promising DE's including Demarcus Lawrence, last year's second round pick. Lawrence is sliding over to SDE to accommodate Hardy moving to the RDE spot. With Hardy's future uncertain and the team waiting to see if he makes good on his incentive laden contract, the Cowboys need an cheap, young replacement in the event Hardy does not work out. Plus, Gregory gives the Cowboys the dynamic young pass rusher the team has not had since Demarcus Ware left for Denver.

The drug test doesn't bother the Cowboys, who couldn't care less if Gregory smokes weed in the pros as long as he produces and doesn't get caught. Plus, the talent is just too good to pass up here.

With the 28th pick, the Denver Broncos select Andrus Peat, OT.

Another huge surprise that a gem like Peat was available. Some had Peat mocked as high as fifth to Washington and the second best OT in the draft. Most had him mocked to either KC (18th) or Cincy (21st). Houston, San Diego, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Cincy and Detroit all had OT needs, too.

Denver needed to fill a number of positions on the offensive and defensive lines, especially the interior OL, which they did in free agency. That left only ROT that needed to be addressed in the draft.

"Peat is big (6'7", 313#) and powerful with a right tackle's play strength and demeanor, but enough foot quickness to protect on the left side. Peat has the physical tools to be an upper-echelon run blocker with pass-protection ability, but he needs to improve his technique in order to protect with consistency. Peat has been well-coached and is one of the most game-ready offensive linemen in this year's draft." (Nfl.com scouting report).

Peat is athletic with long arms and with experience in zone blocking. Peat started every game over the past two years and played well against such DEs as Leonard Williams and Owa Odighizuwa. He is only a junior. Peat will solidify the Broncos right OT position for years, bookending with LOT Ryan Clady. Some project him to be a franchise LOT.

Not only did Rochell blow him up, but the contact came on the heels of (pun intended) possibly the slowest first step ever taken by an All American.

The colts are in dire need for safety help. With Mr. Roid (pictured below) not panning out and subsequently failing his PED test, they signed Dwight Lowery who has a history of concussions.

However, after Colins, the next best safety available is Cody Prewitt (Ole Miss) and I don't believe the colts are willing to take him in the first round.

The smart pick is to go OL as the Colts have struggled to protect Andrew Luck. With Luck about to get a mega deal of a lifetime the Colts decide protecting him is in the best interest of the franchise and take the top OL available:

The Colts Select, Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon.

He projects as a RT, but can, and has, filled in at LT in his career and performed admirably. Was a 3 year starter and has played for a QB who is pass first, with ability to run.

Mr. Roid's latest: LOL

There are some solid DL available still and the colts lost redding but they really need to help Luck stay upright.

Agreed, only thing better IMO would be a pass rusher on the outside, would only help out weak secondary!

With the 30th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft the Green Bay Packers select Byron Jones, CB from the University of Connecticut

hc-byron-jones-nfl-combine-0224-20150223

With the departure of Davon House and Tramon Williams the Pack will be looking to address the hole they left in their secondary. Byron Jones helped his draft stock tremendously during the Combine with his absurd numbers (44.5" vertical, 147" broad jump) and a 4.3 40 yd dash at his pro day. Jones will step in and earn early PT in the already strong Pack secondary.

Did Laron Landry dye his skin? He's looking like Sammy Sosa these days?

With the 31st pick in the NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select Alvin "Bud" Dupree, DE, University of Kentucky

Alvin_Dupree.jpg

Getting Dupree here at 31 is a huge pickup for the Saints. The Saints last year had trouble getting pressure to opposing QBs and as a result let the opposition make big plays late in games. Dupree brings pure speed and power to the defense. He is also has the versatility to play OLB if the D changes to a 4-3.

quite apparent how last years draft had waaay more talent than this year.
last year may be the best we see in terms of "loads of talent at all positions" that we see in some time.
ps no way reese is taking armistead

yeah im just not as excited about this draft as I was last year. The junior class last year that declared was loaded though in fairness, hence why there is not much senior talent this year

I really like Dupree as a late first round /early second round pick. If he brings 100% effort on every play he will be the best pass rusher in this draft.

With the final pick in the first round of the 2015 IE Mock Draft the New England Patriots select Todd Gurley, RB, University of Georgia.

I know, I know. In a league where RB is being devalued more and more on a daily basis, the coach who perhaps values the position the least is going to be the first guy in years to spend a first rounder on one? But this pick holds true to an even more constant Belichick tenet: value. As much as the position has been devalued, truly elite backs can still be difference makers. Gurley has the upside to be a Peterson or Lynch type of difference maker, with a rare blend of power, speed, size and explosiveness.

The combination of the league's attitude towards the position and the fact the player is coming back from a major knee injury have aligned to make a potential game-changing player available to the Patriots at the bottom of the first round. I've seen Gurley ranked as high as the #2 overall player on the 2015 draft Big Board. Belichick has shown both the willingness to gamble on the upside of an injured player and a near-fetish for value in the past. If Gurley is indeed available to New England at #32, they will jump at the chance to put him in the backfield with Tom Brady (and possibly extend their Franchise QB's career in the process). Todd Gurley is the pick for the Pats at #32.

Even though the Patriots have rarely drafted for need, the idea of a corner or an O-lineman was my first thought here. Unfortunately, the first 31 picks depleted both of these areas and taking one here would be a reach. Those needs will have to be addressed in later rounds.

Sure, I'll set it up. We'll just have to have people pick as teams are open. If a pick is made, by a poster, they should wait 2 hours before making another selection, so that they are doing a rapid fire through the second round (if they happen to be doing when few members are here).

Not bad guys. Started selections on 3/29 and finished on 4/7. Way to stay attentive to the thread.
