Sorry if I missed it, anyone think ND will look into Arrington Farrar at the S spot?

EDIT: Found my own answer somewhat: Top Georgia recruit back on free agency market

One of the state’s top 30 college football prospects who you’ve probably heard almost nothing about is back on the free-agent market three weeks away from signing day.

You probably haven’t heard a lot about Arrington Farrar, a 4-star safety from Woodward Academy, because he had been committed to Stanford since his sophomore year.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder backed off his pledge this week after struggling to get admitted to Stanford (for the record, Farrar is an exceptional student with a 3.5 GPA and 26 ACT score).

What’s next for Farrar? “I’m not ready to talk about everything yet,” Farrar told the AJC on Monday. He was obviously still processing the news about Stanford.

Some possible suitors for Farrar are Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech, along with possibly Penn State and Wisconsin. Coaches from a few of those schools are expected to stop by Woodward this week to see Farrar.

What about Georgia Tech? Farrar gets along well with Georgia Tech assistant Buzz Preston, and he has expressed interest in the past in Aeronautical Engineering. The only thing with the Yellow Jackets is that they might be tight on spots, with scholarship offers already promised to upcoming visitors.

Farrar is rated as the state’s No. 27 overall prospect and wants to go to a college that stresses academics. He is projected to play strong safety or outside linebacker at the next level.

Farrar recently had a cb to Michigan

The expectation is that he OV's there this weekend and that puts them in the drivers seat. Duke apparently is the other main competition. Not sure why we don't pick up the darn phone immediately but it seems UM did.

What's soso up to these days? What's delaying his commitment to ucla?

I haven't followed as closely recently but he really enjoys the process and attention. Last I saw is he'll take it the distance. Also, potentially visit other places.

I'm not the staffs biggest supporter right now as it pertains to this end stretch of recruiting. However, the questioned I asked you guys is where does Jalen play. If you watched the tape there is really only two possible positions and that is slot WR and CB. Both of which we don't need right now and he doesn't fall into the difference maker category. I'd much rather bring in a depth player at S than a depth player at CB or WR.

I'm with you about the staff. But since we won't be full, I'd bring him in ONLY if it gives us a substantially better shot with Williams.

God knows we need a RB to sit 3 years while he learns to pass block. It's not like OSU just rode a stud RB to a natty or anything.

If they deem this to be true then I'd say yes go for it. I'm just not so sure that is the case. If they are stand alone prospects then I agree with the no offer.

If you thought you had a player already in the class at one of those positions though that could play safety, you can move them and bring in Jalen.

Just spitballing.

Right and I think somebody like Ashton White has some flexibility. However, what I see missing from the roster and this class is a long rangy type S. A prospect in the 6'2 range that can cover space, more of a FS/ballhawk type. Outside of Redfield we really don't have anything like that at the current S spot or in this class when you take Prentice out of it. Maybe the staff doesn't think we need that player and I'm off on this one but until I see it on the field, I'll be skeptical.

Devin Butler if they would move him. :(

Michigan and ND are both in the picture. Visit set up for 1-24. A very good kid off the field. A legit 6-2 200.

Here we go and a very welcome development. Two programs that Arrington has expressed great interest in on are Mich/ND. He has started following Cooks and Booker on twitter. All parties have been in contact over the last few days. Those have gone well and it looks like he'll OV to South Bend on Jan. 24h.

OSU fans are talking about how apparently, Urban was balls to the wall recruiting while prepping for the NC game. It's all 2nd hand info, but was apparently on the phone like crazy trying to get 2015 and 2016 kids.

So after Elliot does his in-home with ESB he'll be visiting WSU commit and S prospect Kameron Powell. FWIW, Gorney had some good things to say about him from a talent perspective.

Why's BK not doing this in home? Any idea?

He only gets 1 and since ESB had made it clear he's not announcing until NSD why not just wait until closer to the end. It makes sense to me. For guys that want to decide sooner then I would agree.

I see. I thought after the season, any coaches visiting counted as the 1 visit. I didn't realize each coach can have 1 visit. Sorry for partying.
