I believe that Coach is being completely honest with us throughout the line-up here. The starters are either the guys long stated to be starters or they are guys who are still honestly too close to say the competition is completed. The "and's" are also incentive to those guys, whether it's starter or back-up.
On the back-up OLine: this also looks pretty much expected. Bars was in left guard competition with Nelson all camp, and is trained to be a guard this season --- next year might well be different. Mustipher and Hoge were said to be even not long ago, with Hoge being a frosh he then redshirts despite his advanced skills and physicality. Bivin has always been behind Stanley. That leaves just the right side. The "surprise" is Harrell, who apparently has grown into a back-up competency. AND as a tackle, as he was playing center and guard last season. Montelus is no tackle, so it's RG or nothing. McGovern has always been praised more than he has by the staff's public comments. I have my doubts if he ever sees the field as he seems to be an old-style behemoth guard bulldozer and not a lot else. This doesn't fit Kelly's spread.
