It was the best team in US history. That is true. And they still fell short. But my reference was to overall medals and our improvement in all the sports in general. In that regard, the US does continue to improve at hockey. And our increase in nationwide youth leagues will only help that continue.

Canada is an awesome country and I could care less about hockey, but it does seem like they should beat us at it, just like we would bitch slap them at baseball or football.

Best team in U.S. history:

Not the Olympics, but still. Frankly, this 2014 US team had a very, very average defense with just 1 All-Star appearance (Suter) among the whole bunch.

Speed skating team was really off this year, so that hurt. I guess when you're as old as me you remember when the US,barely win any. And I doubt we'll ever "dominate" it, either. It's just nice to be more competitive than when I was a kid.
