YOU are going to be special. He played really good I thought, considering Bama knew we were going to pass almost the whole game.

No doubt that Everett is going to be a REAL GOOD one. I was very pleased with the way he played tonight. Definitely looking forward to his continued development next season.

Wish he was faster. He's surprisingly slow for how athletic/agile he is.

But he can be one hell of a passer once the mental side of the game gets better. He has progressed so, so much throughout the season and could be really great next year if he continues to advance in the offseason.

I don't think we saw him in a full out sprint tonight, but I had the same feeling throughout the game.

I like to not see him in the full out sprint though. Seems that even as he was getting free in the backfield he was still always looking downfield. Good sign IMO.

He's incredibly accurate on the run. He never misses a throw on the run.

I like EG a lot, but I still think Kiel is our future. That has nothing to do with us losing tonight... I've been on GK's jock for a long time. Something about Kiel gives me butterflies. That being said... Golson is a stud. No way around that.

Some people don't realize this... He's not fast at all.. Just slippery and clever. WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT than speed. With that said, both Hendrix and Kiel had faster 40 times this summer.

Golson is gonna be a good one, still interested to see how the Kiel situation works out. I think Kelly will give Gunner the job, if he truly earns it... Which means Ev will be having some nice competition!

He needs to put less air on thos deep sideline balls.

Also he isn't a speedster like Wilson, RG III, Johny Football; Golson is a pocket passer who can escape with his legs.

I love Golson. I dont think he was problem. Some bad play calls, and bad situations. He'll leave ND a big winner

I think if he led TJ a little more on one of those its a TD, or at least gets us to the 5.

Goson played just fine, he was not the problem, getting manhandled on the o and d lines and secondary comes first

Man, I still love Golson, but I'd like to see some more precision in the passing game. How many times did he lead a guy out of bounds tonight? How many times did he underthrow a guy just enough to allow those big Alabama DBs to make a play? After the six weeks of practice I was hoping to see a little bit better timing. McCarron really showed how it's done ... that bastard was perfectly on point all night.

But Golson is still a young guy. He'll get there.

I must have missed the good game he played. I'm by no means saying this loss was his fault, everything was awful. I just don't agree that he played well. I definitely think he can be very good, but I don't think he did enough this season to "lock up" the QB job. He's gonna have to hold off Gunner next year. May the best QB win.

Golson had one of the best freshman seasons of any QB in Notre Dame history, and after the BCS Championship there are people here calling for another starter. I am sorry to say but Golson was not the problem tonight. He played very well for a Freshman and will only get better.

If we want to win in the near future we will stick with Golson, in my opinion. I understand that Kiel is a high caliber player out of high school, but Golson got us to this game. If he was not our quarterback we would not have beaten Pitt. This would have held us out of the championship game.

Today Golson was one of the finer points of the game because he was controlling the play calling and making plays when there seemed to be none to make. Ultimately, our defense was our downfall today, which is disappointing. Golson will be our starter for the next 4 years unless he does not progress next year.

I think most of you will be singing a different tune after a winter and summer workout by Golson. He will be an outstanding quarterback for Notre Dame.

i thought he was good, not great...he's a helluva player, but the difference was the speed of alabama vs. everyone else we played...he's a freshman and theres a reason no frosh qb has won this game...he looked overwhelmed at times...he will be the man next year and we will be better...this *** whippen shows us how much further we have to go...i still love him, but he had a tough night

Nowhere in my post was I calling for a different starter. I said he's going to have to hold off Gunner next season. Don't try to stir up **** where there isn't any.

Oh, and our defense got us to the NCG, not our offense.

I'm not as quick to pencil Golson into that #1 spot and think the Kiel v Golson battle of the summer will be something great to watch. Ultimately, I think Golson will emerge the starter but I see it more as 1A/1B then I do 1/2.

Golson made some sharp looking throws on the run. He did dance around a few time and was able to by sometime but the recivers weren't able to get off their coverage. It doesn't help our running game got smoked and our o-line was pushed around all night.

I think their will be alot of competition next year for a few spots on the team. IF kelly doesn't look atit like that then he is failing to do his job.

Everett played a great game. I'm sure he followed the game plan given by the coaches. He executed very well against a tough Bama defense. When you consider he's just a redshirt freshman playing against the defending national champions, I was impressed. I was not impressed with the defense, but I'm not sure any Irish fans were.

Golson did some good things and did some questionable things but by no means is that the reason we lost. Our defense was horrid. Alabama did exactly what they said they were going to do, we just couldn't stop it. They did to us exactly what they did to Michigan except beat us by one more point. I know it's easier said then done but our o-line has to get bigger, stronger & more aggressive. They had the ball at least twice as long as we did and that wore our Def out. We have to be able to put points on the board. Great Season but horrible ending. I'm already looking forward to 08/31/13. Go Irish

I wouldn't say Alabama wore out our defense. If anything, they beat us up worse in the 1st half than the second half. Defense was just horrid all together, that was the biggest surprise.

I thought Golson played well. He was scrambling so much because our O line was not handling the pass rushers well of Bama. And our run blocking did not allow for any kind of successful running attack. Golson made some good things happen simply because of his ability and the receivers made some good catches. I dont blame Golson one bit for this loss. Our Defense let us down, and our O line was over matched. Just a tough loss.

Golson played well. He took care of the ball the entire game, and played smart. Sure there was some bad throws, but those bad throws he was trying to make a play when nothing was there. Remember Clausen...his frosh yr was bad but at the end you saw a glimpse of hey this kid is going to be damn good. Golson is ahead of that curve and has a lot more talent around him. Its time to watch him grow into a leadership role and make it his team.

He is a red-shirt freshman and he was our entire offense against the best team in the country. Without a lick of a run game, he threw for 270 and was 21/36. That's with having not a single receiver who's able to get separation from an Alabama defender.

He was one of the few bright spots last night. Its hard to remember he was only a freshman. Wait till he has a couple of years in this system.

Ev is going to be a star! A red shirt freshman with 0 game experience took a 12-0 Notre Dame team to the National Championship. Did we win? Absolutely not! Was it his fault? Not even close! That's what happens when you get dominated up front and miss tackles.

Anyone that thinks Rees or Kiel should be the starter. Look at where Golson went on the road and won. East Lansing, Norman, and LA. People were expecting to win around 9 games with Ev at quarterback, he won 12 and now some of you think he might get replaced? Idk if some of you expected him to go out there at throw 300+ yards and 4+ touchdowns a game, then I'm sorry. He is a freshman that took us to a game that we haven't been to in 25 years. He was supposed to "manage" his way throughout the season, he obviously did a lot more than that

He is our quarterback now, and you can bet your *** that he will be the quarterback for the next 3 years.
