Damn did I love Moceanu. I was living in ATL at the time and my family and I went to many events, including those ladies and some baseball. I'll never forget walking around Centennial Park the day before the bombing, something impossible to forget....

I was at the Games in ATL too. My dad and I had walked around the park about an hour before the bomb went off. Talk about a shock.

Has anyone else found NBC's coverage to be borderline unbearable? It's really turning me off for a few reason.

1. Blatant homerism for USA athletes.

2. Over-editing to show only the "interesting" athletes. If they show you a contestant, there's a 95% chance he or she is a) American, b) a medalist (since the broadcasts aren't live and they know who to show), c) a major crash, or d) someone they're going to run a prepared segment on.

3. People who don't know WTF they're talking about. I couldn't count the number of times the slopestyle commentator went on and on about how great or poor a run was just to see the scores come in the opposite way.

4. Hyperbole. EVERYTHING is the "greatest skate EVAAAR" or the "most intriguing matchup EVAAAR" or the "GREATEST. WINTER. OLYMPIAN. OF. ALL. TIME."

5. Cultural ignorance. That one doesn't really need to be explained.

6. Justification of douchebags like Bode Miller just because he/she/they are American.

If nothing else happens at these Olympics, I want someone other than Russia (or Canada to a lesser extent) to win the Gold in Men's Hockey... I would LOVE for our boys to win it in their house... if we play Russia... MUST. WIN. Like impeach the President, bomb somebody (or everybody) or just start the whole country over from scratch if we lose to those bastards... it’s dat real.
