I like the trade. They're giving up a 4th maybe 3rd rd 2015 pick in attempt to better there team right now. They wouldn't be able to get a better WR where they are drafting right now.
There is a TON of WR talent still left on the board right now.
Marqise Lee 6'0" 192 4.52
Donte Moncrief 6'2" 221 4.40
Martavis Bryant 6'4" 211
TJ Jones 6'0" 188 4.48
Jarvis Landry 5'11" 205 4.77
Bruce Ellington 5'9" 197 4.45
Kevin Norwood 6'2" 198 4.48
Allen Robinson 6'2" 220 4.60
Shaq Evans 6'1" 213 4.51
Davante Adams 6'1" 212 4.56
Jordan Matthews 6'3" 212 4.46 (Jerry Rice's COUSIN!!)
Cody Latimer 6'2" 215 (medically excluded from combine workout but benched 225 23 times, beating all WR and some linemen)
That is just to name a few.
I think that the Niners could have
easily had one of them.
All of them except Ellington and Landry are basically the same size of Johnson (6'2" 207, 4.56). I just think they are relegating themselves to a very one-dimensional passing team again, because I don't see Johnson as a particularly explosive WR who will be striking fear into the SEA DBs, who can effectively shut down their passing attack because they don't have to worry about anyone beating them deep.
Believe me that I desperately hope that I am wrong about Johnson, but I don't see why they would not have been able to nab one of these dozen WRs within the second round.
