Kobes salary will kill any GOOD rebuilding for the next 2 years!

Why? He has a max contract. Most of the playoff teams every year have a max contract guy they build their team around. There is a salary cap in the NBA, ya know?

Still dislike Lebron and hope he doesn't win another championship. However, this is the best move he's made IMO.

I barely watch the NBA anymore.

as well as the lakers having their new TV deal which has them making millions more than any team in the league. I think they would be ok going over if it meant possible championship. They were consitently over the cap before the new CBA.

If Kobe was serious about winning in these last two years, he would've taken far less money than he did

He makes enough money on endorsements; he doesn't need a high salary to see how much the LAKERS appreciate him and what he has done for the organization! I don’t like seeing players take pay cuts because the owners sure as hell don’t take a pay cut however I do like seeing the LAKERS win championships!

Newsflash: Lakers will not be contending for a championship in the near future. You can forget that.

It is looking more and more like the Rocket will sign Bosh to the max and resign Parsons and take the luxury tax hit. This assumes the Rockets can move Lin and free up cap space to get Bosh. Parson is already with the team. They are all in after getting Bosh and would pay Parsons 15 mill/year and pax the luxury tax.

No but I love getting Randolph at #7, that was great. I can't believe that 3 or 4 teams thought some of those guys were better.

Don’t rule that out, LA is a very appealing place for free agents!

What players can they sign to rebuild with all that money committed to Nash and Bryant?

They have over $28M in cap space. They had enough room to sign Lebron if he had interest. Again, name me a player they had interest in that they would have needed to do trades to accommodate?

Take a look at the cap link I posted above. The Lakers are in a very solid cap position. Kobe isn't effecting them barely at all.

Look at all that money for 2 players! Not included in there is how much Randal is making, I believe it is 3 mil a year!

I don't know how many different ways I can explain this to you... THEY HAVE OVER $28M IN CAP SPACE.

There isn't a free agent available that they don't have the money to pay right now. They are significantly below the cap. That's why they are fine with signing guys like Lin. It doesn't matter that they are paying their guards over $34M a year, because they still have $28M to spend. Sheesh...

Great so they will trade for Lin and they will have 6 players on their roster. The only one being worth a shit is Bryant and Randle. I dont want quanity, I want quality!

I don't know anything about the pick, but nice to see us have more draft options.

So Kobe scores 80 a game, and Randle 20. If they play some defense, they got a shot!

That's a good trade for the Lakers. They get a first round pick and a big salary they can dump after this year. They will be a big player in next year's FA market.

Also, in the picture on the I'm Coming home article he's wearing his Heat Championship ring right? Nobody thinks thats a slap in the face? Not even a little. "Hey fans I ditched you guys years ago to get one of these. Now, its your turn to ride my shit to a championship." but its all good.

Basically Cleveland was the ugly wife that got ditched for the sexy secretary. Sexy secretary gets fat too but she's mean so man goes back to wife with sexy secretaries panties in hand saying "honey I'm home, I can't wait to move back in."
That's the truth.

Cleveland is the favorite over SA and OKC??? One player makes them go from first overall draft pick to odds on fav to win it all???

Something is wrong with that, right?? I mean basketball claims to be a team sport.

I don't know ... Argentina was given second best odds of winning the World Cup pre-tourney, right? What would they have been without Messi?

lakers next step is some how getting nash out. Sign some nice pieces (i thought there was some original interest in bring ariza back at a 3/4) and possibly deal for Love down the road if he isn't gone by then. I'm assuming he will be. However, gotta get someone in next years FA.

Nash and Lin would be expired after this year, right?
