I think Mike Farrell was pretty much spot on with Jarron so far. Kid just isn't aggressive enough for DL.

I assume there is no info on the severity of watt's concussion or how long he may be out for?

My main concern at the DOG position is that in my opinion, is a position where you are forced to have a High football knowledge and Jaylon and Ben are really really young players. Who are the third DOG behind them?

Okwara worked at DOG last year. I assume he would be third, if we get that far down the depth chart.

Still interested if Okwara could RS. Third team DOG & CAT. We've got some better ST depth. Probably not but I hope so

Sorry, Slu, just saw that you had already posted this:

Romeo is 3rd string CAT & DOG per the ISD report.

Not positive report on Jarron :(... said he is content to just stand at a stalemate with blockers and has no push off the edge. Said he saw some of the second team reps but there was also a time where it was Rochell & Utupo

And that's good info about Jarron ... disappointing, but consistent with what we'd heard so far. But as someone else said, sounds like he can potentially contribute at NT (or NG? are the terms interchangeable?) Kona can play end, if necessary.

It's bad enough that a crucial DL recruit isn't panning out, but having to admit that Farrell was right about something? Almost too much to bear.

My heart goes out to Danny Spond. Heck of a football player and even a better person...Remember the defense wasn't complete till Spond stepped into the lineup last year. Mayock said Spond took the Defense to another level.

Does anyone know if Lo will be eligible for a 5th season? I can't remember if he red shirted and then he was out last year, too. If he does come back, will be an interesting battle between Cole and Lo next year.

The guys at ISD have a lot of good things to say about Koyack. Looks like Koyack as separated himself from Welch and is the #2. Playing alot more aggressive and confident

Yes. His injury last year allowed him to preserve a year of eligibility.

But I don't think it'll be much of a battle. He'll return as a veteran depth player; good insurance policy.

He is. Guys like Welch (#3 TE), Moore (hopefully #1 WILL), Wood (#3 CB/#1 Nickel), & Collinsworth (#2 S/#2 Nickel) will be interesting decisions. Lo probably has the best chance of those I would think

Kelly's comment about Cole being close to being on the field at CB made me think about that battle. I couldn't tell if he meant Cole was close to being with the #1 group or just close to being in the 2 deep at CB.

Isn't Okwara at DE now?

If so, anyone know how he's progressing? He may need to be a player this year if Springmann's done (is this confirmed yet?).

Sorry to be an information whore, I've been out for a couple hours.

I think Collinsworth and Lo will be back if they are in the 2 deep and have a shot at either starting or contributing a great deal next year. Welch not sure because we have 2 guys behind him and 2 ahead of him and at least 1 more coming in as a freshman, possibly 2 if we get Latua. Moore will depend on how well he progresses this year and what our ILB depth looks like next year. I could see Ben moving inside with Jaylon on the outside, Grace inside, and Ishaq outside. Or moving more to a 4-3 and just having 3 LB.

He was talked about the last couple pages. #3 DOG & #3 CAT.

I know its been discussed that Luatua could play defense but could he play ILB?? We seem to be pretty good at outside linebacker but just curious if we could land Luatua if anyone thought he could move inside.

walk on #47 connor cavalaris

lol that dude got two tackles in the NCG last year. He's also listed as 5'11'', so that picture has to be an optical illusion / parallax issue to make him seem so short (i.e. there's got to be steps or something below the photo line of sight).

Yeah there's a ramp, Matuska is a step in front of Rochell and Carlisle, maybe two steps in front of Carlisle. Still, Carlisle is tiny
