Offered a few days ago.

Will OV on the big Jun 21st Weekend.

I haven't been posting many profiles but this is one that... the film made me do it.

Dude is a monster. Enjoy.

Very productive Jr year. 95 Tkl ... 5 TFL ... 4 Int ... 7 PBU ... 4 FF ... Numerous decapitations.

Ran a 4.61 40 at an Opening last year. Measured in at the Opening this year at 6-0.5/183.

I like that he's from Lufkin which is in no man's land near the Louisiana border. It's good he's not in Dallas/Houston/Austin. That's why he has a low key offer list.

Sounds like LSU and Arkansas are his leaders up until now.

We'll be hearing a lot more about him.

Safety with Rover potential? Fun film. Up ends loads of kids. Might have knocked a couple out.

I should mention that they're all clean hits too. He just drives up and through a lot of kids.

Saw the tape of Jerrin Thompson and I think this kid would be awesome to have in ND's class. He's down to a top 5 with LSU & Arkansas as the two leaders for sure. LSU, however has probably 10-11 studs that they are recruiting that are higher rated than Jerrin so I'm not sure how much they actually want him. Arkansas is the opposite where he's their top dude at safety and they were his first offer and he's been there twice already including his first official visit. Thompson's teammate Ja'Lynn Polk is being recruited heavily by the Razorbacks as well and has joined Thompson for his unofficial and official to the school. As for ND, I really do think they have a chance, but literally everything comes down to his 48 hours on campus in late June. If they are able to make him feel comfortable and he loves ND then I think they've got a shot at his commitment on July 6th, but until he actually sets foot on campus I think ND is 5th. I think he's underrecruited because he lives as close to the middle of nowhere as you can get, but he could be a big time strong safety or free safety in ND's system. He was also just named one of the top performers on defense at a loaded Opening Houston event which is impressive. My guess would be he ends up at Arkansas because of LSU's class and ND could have something to say about that in late June. We'll see. Should be fun to watch!

Lufkin may be in no man's land on the map, but recruiters know it well. One of the best perennial Deep East Texas high school programs. Guessing LSU, UT, A&M, etal will be all over the kid. Glad to see an OV to Irish, that's a major win in itself.

LSU and ND seem to want to see how this DB board shakes out before he commits to one of those two and if there is no room sounds like Oklahoma State?

I have no idea what we are doing with the DB recruiting. I don't trust Todd Lyght when it comes to this stuff but I do trust Lea so we will see what happens

Just watched his film and this kid is a player. It hink he could play either safety spot. EJ and Singer saw him playing a few weeks ago at a 7 on 7 and they said he was calling out routes correctly before the snap. Also heard ND is trying to get back in the mix since Ransom is going to OSU. I think this may be ND's to lose.

Really? I like that optimism.

I would have NEVER pushed him off because I was after Ransom. I'd take them both 10/10 times. I thought his film was so good that I made the profile during a busy personal time when I was on a profile building moratorium.

I meant to post this tweet from Monday. He's letting the world know he has 2 OV's left and he just happens to @ just two analysts. One from ND, the other from UT.

EJ Holland has not put in a futurecast but he seemed that he was on his way too if ND did not slow play him. I have a feeling, but not reported, that he will be priority number 1 at safety.

This all day. I'm not sure who #2 is (pure safety). Or if there is a #2 that anyone knows of besides Malcolm Green which seems unlikely by actions thus far.

Whatever happened to Elijah Gaines? He and Ajavon we're making seem like he was ND RKG material.

I have not seen anything reported on him since the last note from EJ 2 weeks ago. He said ND still likes Gaines, but I am guessing he is not as high as Thompson for ND. There is also Mordecai McDaniel, but he seems to wan to play in the SEC.

I really think ND should go after more guys from St. John's College but it seems that for every RKG there is, there are 2 or 3 who are not.

Also, it is possible ND could flip Dontae Manning/Ryan Watts. If they flip one of them, I think one of the current commits (including Offord) becomes the pure safety.

Got the Texas offer yesterday.

Picked up two UT CB's, one from Gabe Brooks who is a Longhorn analyst and 247's lead on Thompson's recruitment.

This stings. Also more bad news (sorry in advance)

Colin Gamble may commit to TCU if he gets offered because it is close to home and it is his mom's alma mater. We'll see how this unfolds.

Christian Gonzalez has a top 5 of Alabama, Arizona State, Colorado, Notre Dame and Ole Miss. A decision is coming in August. ND thinks they are not really in it and his girlfriend goes to Alabama so . . . .

EJ at Rivals also thinks that Malcolm Greene is a long shot for whatever reason.

Here are the guys left on the Safety board IMO:

Dontae Manning - A&M lean
Malcolm Greene - Low confidence ND lands him
RJ Moten - UM lean
Ryan Watts - committed to Oklahoma
Justin Robinson - committed to UGA
Ramon Henderson - NDs best option and they love him? Yikes
Christian Gonzalez - Who knows, he rarely mutters a full sentence apparently.
Collin Gamble - if TCU offers lookout
Elijah Gaines - it seems he is every schools plan B
Jerrin Thompson - UT offered and it looks over

Not looking promising folks. Hopefully a 10 win season will allow them to flip somebody.

So maybe he was hoping and waiting for the Longhorns all this time!? Where does he take his two OV's this fall? I have a feeling we are now a long shot.

Hopefully they can flip someone after the season, but I think that’s about it. If they can’t do that don’t just take some guy just to take some guy. Rarely works and that’s not the type of player that’s going to make a difference. How they swing and miss so much on db’s is wild. Maybe because ND hasn’t put a DB in the NFL better than rd 4 since what Harrison Smith like 9 years ago? If they can’t get anyone solid then I say leave a spot open in the class and go all in on 2 studs next year, but starting now!

I can't see how that could possibly backfire

Yeah so can taking someone just to take someone. More than likely
only contributes on ST and/or transfers after 1-2 years. Sounds worth it. Oooh or we can get another Avery Sebastian lol. Not the best situation either way.

Love would have went higher if his measurables were better. Gilman will get drafted as will Pride. Need to emphasize that they can get kids to the NFL, even if they aren't 6'2" and 215lbs.

Year after year after year.

This. No winning in a vacuum, consistent winning is key. We are starting to be considered a top 10 team, rather than finishing outside the top 25.

No more 8-5 bullshit. Then we won't have to worry about this. The staff is developing enough draftable talent to be a pull for these kids.
