Crus what is your view on Trayanum?

Future Ohio St running back.

Very good player but I have very little interest in him as it pertains to ND. I'd rather chase Robinson, the other Ohio RB's that OSU recruits over and wait for a late bloomer like under recruited Ethan Wright... who's also from Akron.

Yes i like him very much also. He is very slippery. Seems to be quick and also fast. I'm going to assume the reason he is not a top 100 prospect is due to height?

Didn't capitalize "The" in The Notre Dame University. Pass.

Kid runs bigger than he is and his highlights from last year are sixteen minutes long. Impressive.

After spending sometime reading up on him and watching his film, he has gone up the board for me. Glad to hear he had a good visit.

Agreed. Definitely an option to be excited about.

I remember an Oregon backfield of Lamichael James and Kenjon Barner that was insane. Neither over 200 lbs.

If you are referring to McClain, I don't think height is an issue. Barry Sanders was 5'8" and Emmitt Smith was 5'9". Low center of gravity and difficult to see behind an offensive line as tall as Notre Dame's. He will have to add some pounds to that frame though, but he's got plenty of time should he decide to come to ND.

All the services with updates on his visit. I think Lance Taylor did very well this weekend. He's planning on coming back which is a positive. Also, heading to West Virginia this weekend.

If Taylor can lock up a guy like this, and a 4 star every down back, he will be my new hero.

Would love to finally have an APB that works out.

I think McClain will be good. I'd go with Tyree or Drennen II over McClain right now, but I think any of those would be good adds. It'll be interesting to see how the staff sorts out numbers and needs. They have 7 scholarship RB's right now and none lose eligibility after this season (2020 season - RS SR Tony Jones Jr, RS JR Jafar Armstrong, RS JR Avery Davis, RS SO Jahmir Smith, RS SO C'Bo Flemister, SO Kyren Williams, RS FR Kendall Abdur-Rahman). Right now, it would be foolish for them to take 2 guys, but I think they'll be some serious attrition from the position which I'm sort of hopeful for because nobody is really inspiring me at RB other than Jafar and maybe Kyren. Of the guys they are recruiting I hope it is for the best two of whoever they see as a fit, but curious what order that is...

.9879 5* MarShawn Lloyd
.9863 4* Chris Tyree
.9854 4* Bijan Robinson
.9338 4* Seth McGowan
.9309 4* Michael Drennen II
.9024 4* Tirek Murphy
.8971 3* Reggie Love
.8839 3* JuTahn McClain

I definitely think we'll see some decent to serious attrition after this season at RB..., so my hope is we take two, but only if the two are studs.

Agreed, I think Avery Davis Jr has a make or break year in terms of the rotation along with the two second years in Jahmir Smith and C'Bo Flemister. Long term I think Kendall Abdur-Rahman is a WR. So yea, in terms of actual RB's, I don't think ND has much (Jafar, Kyren, and one of Jahmir/C'Bo) and can afford to take 2 studs if they can get them.

Seems pretty obvious the staff is willing to take two RB's. They wouldn't be throwing out new RB offers, like Edwards today, if that meant Tyree didn't have a spot. They must look at RB as #1 spot is a need and a 2nd is for BPA.

i wouldn't be shocked to see AD move to slot if some of the younger guys are charging. I'm interested to see if CBo progresses this year. And wouldn't be surprised at all to see KWill get more time as the year progresses. Regardless, I think we'll see RBs do a lot more catching this year given Taylor's history.

"Notre Dame was really nice and it was a lot different than what I expected," he added. "I really liked the campus and I was impressed with their graduation rates for their football players. Their football program is great and their academic program stood out a lot. They see me fitting in their offense well and I could run it or catch the ball in their system. I'm planning on taking one of my official visits there this fall, and I could go there again before that."

ND could easily have 2 RB's in the fold by the Fall in the class of 2020. Kid does not seem to have a sense of urgency

I'd be surprised if they had 2 running backs by the fall. 1, maybe. Murphy might be committed by then, but Tyree might go the distance.

My understanding is that he doesn't have a committable offer until we know what happens with Tyree. So a July decision date makes sense, assuming it's still Tyree's intention to commit in June.

How did you come to this understanding? I haven't seen anything that says McClain's offer isn't committable.

Stated behind every paywall. With that said, the staff does seem to be slowing down their recruitment of him, which is good. Long was out to see him last Tuesday, the first round of visits Long made.
