Would you prefer "The Oracle"?
I think anything would be corny. How about the "8 ball"?

McGregegor and Mills seem to have pretty similar skill sets, how many SDE's are we looking to take?

Just put him anywhere and let him annihilate QBs
This. Just stack these incredibly talented players together and let them eat. I'm really floored by how well the staff is finally recruiting the DL. Next year's draft should help continue this trend.
You really have to wonder what caused the sudden change? Making it to the playoffs, the performance of the D-line last year, change in recruiting tactics? Regardless, this is good!
Like most things in life, I don't think it's related to any one thing. There are happen to be a large number personality fits in recent classes. The program is more consistent. The DL play has been very good and the defense as a unit, has been extremely good compared to prior years. First playoff appearance in the books.
I think all of this has to be appealing. If our DL has the year we expect in 2019, I think that bodes well for 2021 and beyond.
I really hope we can add McGregor, keep all the current commits and put a big ass bow on it. This class would compete with the Tuitt/Lynch/Ishaq class for most hyped DL class that I can remember and possibly the most complete/high-rated class in the Kelly era.
Sometimes you just get lucky and have a group of guys who are ND RKG's. Couple that with ND finally going after those kids as early as their rivals and it works out. Offering early, I've harped about this long before my IE days. Do your research, identify your targets, hand offers out like candy & out work the other guys building relationships. It's simple.
If we are able to pull this off and get Braiden in the fold, then what a recruiting run the past two years. Great job by Elston and staff. However if you want to get depressed go look at what Clemson is doing for their d line this year. We don't even come close to comparing to the recruiting star power they have.
As for McGregor. I have finally come to the conclusion that he will be Irish. I never thought that until the last 24 hours.
Tied into that would be improved recruiting staff. Bill Rees is big time. Also the staff is better at recruiting. Brian Polian is a beast on the west coast. Mike Elston has always been good. Terry Joseph is excellent. Clark Lea is turning into a big time recruiter. Tom Rees is shaping up to be a special recruiter as well (locked down all good QB’s and got Rylie Mills on board). Jeff Quinn grinds a lot more than Hiestand but the jury is still out until the dust settles on the 2020 class. Del Alexander is big time, Lance Taylor seems special as well. Lots and lots of big time recruiters on staff coupled with the earlier offering and all the things you mentioned and ND is moving up the charts in recruiting.
I was also skeptical and I'm leaning that way too now. It'd be one thing if one or two were exuding confidence (especially Loy), but every Notre Dame beat reporter seems to think we'll win this one.
If we don't get him, it'll be because ND staff read things completely wrong and the reporters bought it. Which happens, see: Skoronski. But some of the statements (Elston's tweet, Loy: "I can’t share everything on this front quite yet") make it sound like they're sharing an open secret.
McG is done too. Elston wouldn't have gone out on a limb with that "puzzle tweet" otherwise. Like Baker, we are in the Commitment Story Writing phase of the silent offer period.
The 3 ND services are doing a bad job this year holding their cards.
Don't you break my heart like that.
Nothing wrong with Quinn's recruiting, just the opposite. He's great. When Tosh announces tomorrow all will be good. The guys he's "lost"? Christ and Skoronski... Guys I loved but from the outside Christ is a 3* OT and Pete's an undersized OT who has to learn the interior. People on the outside are like, so what... go get Carmody. Which he will finally.
Plus, in 2022 you'll look back and go, "How did Quinn pull that 2021 class inbetween 2019 and the best class in ND history... 2021??? Dude's a freak."

I think things are trending well for Braiden, but I don't think it is done by any means..... if so I would think you would see guys like Wiltfong making the switch immediately.. Steve and Loy still talk routinely so if this was known I would guess Loy would have informed Steve hence a CB change, that hasn't happened with Wiltfong
