Visiting today.

3.6 GPA

Had a nice Soph stat line:

11 G ... 98 Tkl ... 17.0 TFL ... 1 Sk ... 11 QBH ... 3 FF ... 3 FR ... 1 Int ... 3 Blk Pnt.

Athletic 2 way player with good size at this stage. Plays OLB/Drop on D, TE on O, nice blocking clip in his film.

Big time offer for him, his previous offers were mainly MAC schools and SCUM and Sparty haven't come in for him yet

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more athletic strong-side defensive end than Braiden McGregor, who will arrive in South Bend later this week.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound sophomore from Port Huron (Mich.) was a big-time producer in the fall, knocking out 98 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and three blocked punts.

Loy and Wiltfong CB'd him to Notre Dame

Did they say it's based on talking with him or is it just because ND won and he got to experience a big time atmosphere in South Bend?

If the latter, too many of these analysts give CB's based on a team winning a game when they visit. It's not like he's not going to see more big time atmospheres, he'll see Ohio St/Penn St/Mich St at the Big House... the team that most feel led up until last nights delicious loss.

This one is over before it ever started. BVG is a closer.

Closer to getting fired. Even Diaco held Bama under 50 and he doesn't have a DC job.

Oh and BTW, McGregor's been eating his Wheaties.

ISD freebie offering some insights as to some 2020 Defensive Recruits
https://irishsportsdaily.com/s/7563/2020-defensive-outlook

The Illinois native had been to South Bend multiple times, but the season-opener against Michigan was his first college game and it was eye-opening. The Irish are in a great spot as his family is fond of the school and Mike Elston. Notre Dame has done a fine job of making him feel both comfortable and a priority. Michigan is likely the biggest competition and he was in Ann Arbor earlier this month, although Ohio State could quickly become a factor after offering earlier this month. McGregor is expected in East Lansing this weekend as well, so Michigan State is in the mix too. He’s talked about potentially committing in January or during the spring as he’s starting to get increased clarity after previously talking about wanting to use officials to see different parts of the country.

Sinclair CB for ND.

Visited again for FSU.

So it's him, Loy, Wiltfong and some nobody for ND

vs.

Anbender (MI) and Trieu with older Michigan CB's.

When Trieu flips, the end is near.

I didn't think they would land Mills & McGregor but it sure looks that way now.

Add Kaden Johnson and I'll be thrilled. I think Mills slides inside to become the stretch DT like Jillery.

Moved up his timeline to the Spring as he said he still wants to be able to take some OV's but is nearing a decision. We do seem to be in a good spot as of now. My only hesitation is I do think UM might being discounted a little more than what 247 is letting on.

Surprised they didn't offer Kaden on his visit. As, I think they have underrecruited the Drop position as of today. Mostly because I think most of the "drop" prospects we look good for, aren't going to be Drop DE's for very long. Mainly McGregor and Logan Redding.

I agree, I think his best long term position is a 3-4 DE/4-5T. Which he'd play here from time to time like Lea has done this year. But, in this base scheme he'd be a 3T.

2 DT’s, 3 DE’s in 2020, that’s what I’m calling as the needs

DT’s
.9503 4* Cole Brevard
.9485 4* Rylie Mills
.9141 4* Jordan Butler
.9082 4* Denver Warren
.8986 3* Aidan Keanaaina

DE’s
.9784 4* Darrion Henry
.9746 4* Jacolbe Cowan
.9521 4* Tyler Baron
.9406 4* Kaden Johnson
.9128 4* Xavier Carlton
.8880 3* Braiden McGregor
.8700 3* Jalen Logan-Redding

Not a bad looking group of top prospects. I’d love it if they offered a couple more guys like Denver Warren and Kaden Johnson, but they’re doing work on their top of the board dudes. DT looks really strong once again. I hope they start off with Rylie Mills, Aidan Keanaaina, and Braiden McGregor in the class. That would be a sensational start and then they’d have to look for 2 more DE’s probably. I think Xavier Carlton has a surprising amount of interest in ND and Tyler Baron needs to drive up to campus and have his eyes opened!

Cross Denver Warren off your list. I can promise you he won’t end up at ND.

Come on man... spill dem beans. He got the Duke/Wiscy combo offer which screams qualifier. Does he openly not like ND - did a bridge get burnt?

Good luck against Batavia this weekend. I'll be watching if it's streamed. What do you think of Michael Jansey? If there was no Jack Kiser, I'd have been all over him.

I’m with you. BC, Duke, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin is not a terrible host of options academically. He’s also a talented player at a position of need and fits the mold of a NT that ND doesn’t really have on their roster in terms of size (they had Darnell Ewell but he was a bust). I’d love an explanation as to why he wouldn’t ever be at ND.

Are Mills and McGregor now ending up as 3tech? Isn't ND in need of SDE's? I assume they could play both.

McGregor is listed at 6’5”-6’6” and 230-250 on sites so I don’t think there’s a chance he’s ballooning up to 6’5” 295-305 during his career at ND. I think he’ll be a SDE at ND and a good one to boot. He could grow a bunch in terms of weight gain but I think Rylie Mills is the one doing that and he’ll probably shift inside if reports are true about him being already around 275lbs as a high school junior.

Warren's 6-1.5 in cleats, not the optimistic 6-3 he threw out there on Hudl & Twitter. So he's right there with Franklin and Hinish.

I'm not on his bandwagon, I'm just curious why he's not a fit.

I meant weight. ND has...

RS SR Jonathan Bonner 6’4” 295lbs
RS JR Micah Dew-Treadway 6’4” 300lbs
SO Kurt Hinish 6’2” 295lbs
FR Ja’Mion Franklin 6’1” 306lbs

When I posted the comment above I actually spaced on Ja’Mion Franklin, but I mean like some more big dudes a la Louis Nix (6’2”, 330lbs). Now I know the defense has changed and they are probably looking for more athletic dudes, but I’m just wondering if ND would look for a guy in Denver Warren’s mold who’s probably playing in college at 6’1” 315lbs which is a double team eater. Cause Bonner and Hinish are good but honestly don’t know how great they are. I have a tough time analyzing 1T while watching a football game (I don’t really look at that position).
