Secina? Wow. Annually one of the better small catholic schools in the state when it comes to FB. Usually will play a tough OOC schedule and then make a run in the tourney.

"Come on Crusaders fight for dear old Scecina, take this game in great victory and fight, fight, fight, fight for Scecina Memorial High. Oh yes we can, so here we go again, Say S C E C I N A! Come on Crusaders fight for dear old Scecina, take this game in great victory and fight, fight, fight, fight for Scecina Memorial High."

I had two sisters graduate from Scecina. I knew the words to that song long before I got to Warren Central. Amazing what you remember. lol

Oh man an old college buddy of mine went to Scecina. If a kid from there gets to South Bend he'd be pumped.

Side note: my buddy played DE on Scecina's football team and went against Bishop Chatard, with our fave All Pro Guard for the Cowboys, Zach Martin. He said the game was miserable and that he made the mistake of winning a single rep against Z. Biggest mistake of his life, because the game only got worse from there ha!

Loy says the Henning tweet wasn't about an upcoming commitment or a top group, as you were, men.

Good question. I know if I could land:

Gee Scott Jr
Daniel Jackson
Jordan Johnson
Jadon Thompson

in addition to Henning, I'd do it. Now I believe the odds of landing all 5 is very low because some other schools will convince 1 or 2 that there aren't enough balls to go around and that is a legit point. But screw them cuz I'm greedy.

I'm really hoping Jordan Johnson pops first. He's a reported lean now but with OSU and Bama already offering and him sitting at #58 OA, he's the kind of prospect that's tough to stay out front on. Hopefully him and Kyren W. are tight.

Gee Scott would be next. I thought he might be the first to pop but he was supposed to make a camp this summer but didn't. His teammates Hector and Rogers are staying PAC so even though he's all ND on the CB's, it's from ND analysts and Wiltfong... the former ND analyst. When WA's Brandon Huffman throws one for ND, I'll feel a lot better.

And for a few hours I was feeling great about 2020 WRs, then you had to post this.

All I see now is JJ to OSU, Scott to USC or WA, and Henning to Bama after a year at IMG...

Nothing new here, he’s been considering OSU since they offered roughly two months ago. Looks like an ND/OSU battle.

Dammit. WTF is going on?

Nothing. A pOSU analyst drops a CB to the Buckeyes (shocking) and you act like we lost him already. I am not saying he for sure commits to ND. But a “WTF is going on?” response is a bit of an overreaction.

I know. Just really want ND to land him

What is our track record vs OSU/Bama when competing for RBs and WRs. I know we do fine with OL, but honestly don't we tend to lose O skill players on the regular to those guys? Not being a downer, just historically setting proper expectations to myself lol.

Any kid from California who Oklahoma wants will go there instead of ND. Any DB Oklahoma wants will become a Sooner over a Golden Domer. Ohio State will beat ND for every DLine prospect that they really want. Bama beats us for anyone if they actually want them which isn’t often cause they don’t recruit at our level (about 12 tiers above everyone else). Lastly, Ohio State will pick and choose their skill players (minus TE) and beat ND for them just about every time (Austin Mack, Sampson James). There are many many exceptions to these rules lol but those are the stereotypes I’ve heard of recruiting battles.

Even if he is leaning towards OSU all it takes is another really good season from ND and an ordinary 3 loss season from OSU and the choice becomes obvious.

Don't hold your breath on that unless Tatgate 2.0 happens.

Not sure if they are recruiting Henning at RB or WR, but OSU just took the commitment of another 4 star RB.

While this is true, OSU could end up with roster economics that doesn't please Henning as much as ND.

OSU will land Wandale Robinson in '19 if they want. He's a 4.3 APB like AJ. He even was timed in the 4.2's at one of the Midwest meat market showcases during camp season. I'm sure it was hand timed and optimistic but he's definitely in the same class of speed as AJ.

In '20, they will sign Michael Drennen who is an APB and supposedly they are out front for Jalen Berger who is another APB.

With ND, the only APB-ish player that will for sure be on the roster is Kyren Williams and by the time AJ gets to South Bend, Williams will be a Tarean Folston-like 5.9.5/210+ RB that can sneak out of the backfield and become a weapon in the passing game.

AJ can come to ND and be the man, the ONLY man at his position. or go to Columbus and share the rock with those 3 guys and whoever comes next for a coach that will overload a roster with every Percy Harvin wannabe he can schmooz.

Let's hope AJ recognizes this. Also the Zach Smith thing may help our chances as well. I think we need to offer Jaydon Thompson to see the deal for AJ. the fact OSU hasn't yet tells me AJ may not be at the top of their APB list.

You know I'm ok with this.

Plus, as much as ND looks to be in a good place for Gee Scott & Jordan Johnson, history would say the odds of signing both are realistically very low. I'd get to work on:

3* Jadon Thompson - IL - 6-2 Chicago kid - Marist Catholic
4* Jaden Dottin - CT - 6-3/185 - MI/PS/Duke offs
4* John Humphreys - CA - 6-5/200 - CDM - 55/1100/16 - Lost bro to Duke - Offer now
3* David Baker - IN - 6-2/185 - Scecina Memorial - 60/970/14TD - Will blow up
4* Silas Starr - OR - 6-2/190 - Central Catholic - Top 100 player
3* Tommy Christakos - AZ - 6-4/190 - 4.0 GPA - 32/600/8T - Best P/K in AZ too
4* Terry Locket - MN - 6-0/170 - Minnehaha - pkg deal w/ Kaden Johnson
3* Elijah Badger - CA - 6-1/185 - Folsom - 50/900/12 - Same HS as the Ngata's
3* Brenden Rice - AZ - 6/3/195 - Jerry's kid - 25r/560y/22.5ypr/7T - same HS Luke Cole
3* Abdur Rahmaan-Yaseen - MI - 6-1/180 - Walled Lake W - IU/IA/ISU/MN offs

Couple this with the OL recruiting we've had and one can hope...

OL is definitely a selling point for ND at the moment but it's not really a head to head selling point vs OSU right now.

As good as ND's line has been in recruiting and performance, going back to 2017 I'm almost positive OSU's had a higher ranked overall haul.
